Nobody ever believes me when I tell them this, but I've found that Purina's Super Supper for Cats makes a great pizza topping. Just smear it all over the slice of pizza, then stick it in the toaster oven for a few minutes. Yummy.

Actually If IIRC hamburgers are a German invention... The poor and the lower classes ate fried shredded low-quality beef wich they seasoned with herbs and spices as early as the 14th century. They apparently got it from the russian tartars (who ate the beef raw, hence the name Beef Tartar ) In Hamburg it aquired the name 'Hamburg Steak' and german immigrants took this 'Hamburg steak' to the US in the 19th century. And the rest is as they say, history...
The hot dog is also a german invention, according to 'History of the Hot Dog'
quote: As it turns out, it is likely that the North American hot dog comes from a widespread common European sausage brought here by butchers of several nationalities. Also in doubt is who first served the sausage with a roll. One report says a German immigrant sold them, along with milk rolls and sauerkraut, from a push cart in New York City's Bowery during the 1860's. In 1871, Charles Feltman, a German butcher opened up the first Coney Island hot dog stand selling 3,684 sausages in a milk roll during his first year in business. |
Amazing what you can find on the Internet if you´re looking...

So Fez if you won't call Citizens of the United States of America Americans that what barely pronouncable circumlocation do you use. USians. United Statesians howabout UnitedstatesiansofNorthamericnottobeconusedwithest
adosunidosdemexioians.
We are called Americans because the the name of our nation is just a tad awkward to use.
And most of us ain't bloody Yanks. Thats people from the North East.

I don't want to believe you. I don't even want to know how you came up with this. I can't even figure out why cats eat cat food. That you would try this says terrible terrible things about you as a person.

fex, fex, fex... i know it's fez, fex. i'm doing it for purely selfish pleasure. besides, if you wanted to be anal about it, you could insist that i capitalize it properly as Fex...
besides, you put in one too many periods in your ellipsis.
then again, why do you care what i'm saying? i thought you had me on ignore? did something happen to that list? are my posts just that interesting? are my grammar and spelling just too irresistable for you to (incorrectly) lampoon?
======
anyway. it's a commonly accepted practice to refer to natives of the united states of america as americans, whether it's technically correct to do so or not. in fact, a lot of euro derogatory terms (such as "amis", used in germany) refer only to those of the us, not to the rest of the americas... and there's no confusion about the victims of such a slur.

very true. i'm not denying that. but it didn't get popular in asia because of italians-- it got popular because of american influence, which is why the americanized version of pizza is the kind they have there.

And I can put in as many ****ing periods as I wish.................... enough?
Enough with nitpicking every little mistake I make. You obviously have no grounds to make such judgement. |
you still haven't answered my question: what happened to you ignoring me? fex, fex, fex, fex... will that make you ignore me again?
oh, go ahead, put in all the "****ing periods" you want, i don't really care all that much. i'm only nitpicking you because you tried doing that to me a few threads ago, without any basis whatsoever.
until you provide me with a complete breakdown of why that sentence failed, i'll nitpick all i want. and you can ignore me all you want, that won't stop me from doing it (at least, until i get bored with it... which won't be for a while...).
anyway, what happened to the basic idea of the thread? i'm still waiting your response...
