This professor needs to have his ass kicked. Better yet, he needs to be let go of his position. This lunatic is in a post that automatically gives a person intellectual authority. The students that he is "teaching" will become some of the social elite someday. They may think that this lunatic's ideas are legitimate, simply because he is a Harvard professor. Imigaine the uproar if the professor said that we needed to destroy the African race. I am proud of my heritage. The article is just more proof that idiocy is a human condition, regardless of one's education, wealth or social status.

What this supposedly educated ivory tower-type professor spouts is no less dangerous in the long term than those who carried out the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Isn't it just amazing how some folks can turn nobles concepts such as religion, education, wisdom and kindness into twisted founts of ill?

This man is what I call "overeducated". Further education for his ilk only makes them smarter fools. He has now joined the elite group of far left intelectuals along with Peter Singer (of "kill the baby" fame)and his happy farm of nut cakes. I guess that this guy fails to realize that it is a number of minority groups that are now clamoring for "special privileges". It is his kind that cause racial strife where there is none. But I suppose that is what he gets paid for. If some of these Know-it-alls would get a real job and get some dirt under their fingernails then they might discover what a real education is.

It is interesting that those that believe in the 'niggardly' case people believed that that teacher should have been careful with her words, but this Harvard Professor doesn't have to. Like Horowitz said, in the article, if there was a headline saying 'Abolish the Black Race', with the same goals in mind (to abolish the societal contructs that hold back blacks), they'd be crucified.

You can say you want to discourage racism against minorities and make society more colorblind without putting it in terms of destroying the white race. IMO race is a concept that needs to be getten rid of altogether- we should be seen as humans only, not whites, blacks, etc.

There was a recent movie, I forget the name, that told reality-based the story of a Jewish kid who so hated being jewish that he grew up to be a leading skin-head Nazi. Ignatiev seems to have a very similar mental problems.
