Lord, what is grass for?
For you to sleep in
Lord, what are Birds for?
To sing to you.
Lord, what is water for?
For you to swim in
What is the ocean for?
For you to look at with your lover.
What are trees for?
For you to lie under on sunny summer afternoons.
What are mountains for?
For you to climb, of course.
Then what are mosquitos for?
You didn't think I'd be giving it away free if it were perfect, did you?

Asher, you are right. It makes no sense. Try to stop making sense of it and just relax.

I said that God does not need your worship
the key point is that he is deserving of it

My God is not capable of caring what I do.
My God is everywhere, and everything.
My God is in the cat that prowls the field behind my house.
My God is the quark that a physicist detects, and the heat of the coffee he sips.
My God is the Universe; the multiverse.
My God is absolute, infinite and undefined.
My God is The purpose and the method; the cause and the effect.
My God knows me, but I can't even track him down.
My God is part of me, and to better myself is to come closer to him.
My God is the perfection that is everything; the unimaginably complex and infallible machinery that is existance.
My God does not ask for worship, or temples of gold, or complicated ritual. To live happily is enough.

Ethel, please. You can mock me by personal message. Have a little respect. |
I wasn't mocking you. I was pointing out a bit of reality.
Christ IS a title. Its not a name.
Sacramental wine in the US IS Mogan David (I say US because that is made from Concord grapes and they are native to America) is or at least it was back when I was a Catholic. To a Catholic THAT IS THE Blood of Christ.
If Christ is defined merely as the annointed one then there were a LOT of them. If Christ is defined as the Messiah than Jesus did not qualify. The Messiah MUST have an Earthly Kingdom or he isn't the Messiah. Its part of the definition.
Just because I disagree with you Jimmy it doesn't mean I am mocking you.
That goes for John Miller as well. You also should be able tell the difference.

small because you are not capable right now of imagining something so immense
and I would worship God even if I did not beleive in an afterlife or beleived that God cared for me (but if I did not beleive that God cared for me, I probably wouldn't love Him)

that is because the concept of worship is so messed up here because those earthly men who want worhip are not worthy of it
just because most of what man worships is not worthy of worship does not make worship invalid though

While I knew what you said to be factually correct, the way you said it was mocking
see

Jimmy doesn't know the difference between a person and a title.
