How do you clean your comb? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Ok, I shower everynight, but yet, about once every week and a half or so, my comb STILL gets dirty, when I comb every morning.

So how do you guys clean your comb?
Using a toothpick between every tooth of the comb just becomes too tedious.
And I tried cleaning it under a high-pressure faucet, and that does not work.

Is this one of life's little problems with no real solution?

How do I clean my comb? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

With an old toothbrush I keep under the sink for just that purpose.

I use liquid soap and water to scrub my combs with the old toothbrush...works like a charm.

I run hot water over it every time I use it. That way there is no chance for oils to build up.

Full PM-box? Change here!

I yank hairs out of it every once in a while, but it gets pretty clean because I always have to comb hot water into my hair to keep it from forming into fuzzy horns...

I don't comb my hair. I have it cut short enough that combing is unnecessary. Problem solved, time saved.

It's the flag of the Iroquoian Confederacy (also known as the Five Nations). The Wyandot share the same Iroquoian language. An example of a Wyandot: The picture of the indian on the front of Red Man Chewing Tobacco is a Wyandot chieftain.

Sorry for the detour...back to the subject at hand: How to clean those damn combs?...

I'll be honest, I rarely clean my comb. Only if I drop it on the ground which is usually nasty. Then I just run water over it, and rub my fingers on the blades. If I'm really feeling inclined I might soap up my hands when I do this.

Now how often do you clean your bath towel? If you only use it when you get out of the shower when you are clean, it should never get dirty right? . Although I have found in real life it does get dirty. It's impossible to get 100% clean. If clean freaks only knew how much dirt and things were crawling on them they'd have a heart attack. I make it a point to remind them whenever I meet a clean freak.

i normally use shower towels twice before washing

I clean combs every day, just by scrubbing it with fingers while running hot water over it

Even better, take a shower just before you go to school. EVEN better, develop a resistance to freezing and walk to school (in the winter).

Alas -- another one of those instances, where it is best for a gay man to seek advice from another gay man.

Seriously -- seems that yours is the best solution offered so far. Thanks.

As for those who don't know what my comb is getting dirty from, some of it is hair that has been loosen from combing, and then the rest of it seems to be tiny amounts of grayish gunk, or something indescribable.

Being deprived of a clean comb is a violation of human rights, people!

Don't use combs. Gel and hands work fine.

[Tangent] Back in highschool, one day we had the soccer team photos. That afternoon, my dad happened to be at school to pick up my mom (she taught there). I asked him for a comb before the picture, and he gets this weird look on his face. He then produces from his rear pocket a battered black plastic comb that is missing a few teeth.

He proceeds to tell me that he has possessed this particular comb since his first day of college, making it over 35 years old at the time (this was probably 10 years ago). He explains how he has diligently kept track of this comb and has never once lost it, so I had to be extrememly careful, etc.

I stared at him a second, and then went to my mom and borrowed a comb from her purse, explaining that dad was a freak.

[/Tangent]

Once again, the Gay Agenda must apologize for this completely unwarranted bit of rather gross innuendo. MrFun has been reprimanded by having his Madonna collection confiscated for 60 days.

Not for thich hair, at least in my experience. In order to forego combing, I've either got to have a crew cut or a 'fro. Anything in between goes hog wild.

I have pretty thick hair, actually, and it works fine for me. I use mega-hold gel, so it keeps my hair nice and entrenched.

My hair's also extremely oily, so gels and hairsprays tend to quickly wear off.
