I don't agree with Imran, as, for me, "Anti-choice" refers only to being against women having the choice to have an abortion. It doesn't relate to choice in other spheres.

It's not a major issue here so it's a bit wierd. The vast majority is in favour of the situation we have. We don't have the religious pressures here that there are in the US though.

Yes Stew, it is wrong what she is doing, but not from a legal context. It is her body and her choice. I certainly do not respect her decisions as they may cause damage to the unborn child.

There is a valuable difference between this and the abortion debate. In abortion, the woman chooses to abort and thus a child will never be produced. However if this woman intends to have the child, smoking and drinking are very deleterious to the health of the child. I don't think the law should stop her, but it worries me what kind of parents they are going to be if they can't have any kind of respect for the health of their children from day 1 - even if it means making personal sacrifices.

I dont think the law should stop her, but if she has a child that is damaged due to her consumption of alcohol and cigarettes while pregnant she should be charged with child abuse.

I am pro death penality, against abortion and pro euthanasia, but not a forced one. Forced euthanasia would be extremely stupid to do - this would be like punishment for being ill... Some people might just want to live a bit, why should we kill them? This would be a murder, because we would kill person against his own will.
I am pro death penality because in my opinion this would be the best possible punishment for various murderers, also, unlike in life sentence, country wouldn't have to pay money to give them what to eat until death. I would also allow to commit a suicide in prison if someone wants to do so. Right to death is one of major human rights in my opinion.
However, abortion is exacly opposite. It is also a crime. Unborn baby is also a human being (and he/she commited no crimes), so killing him is a murder. In my opinion it should always stay illegal except times when mothers life is threatened. And doctors who would do abortions illegally would stay against the same laws as ones who murders innocent people. However, I would forcely sterilize all "low-lifes" like drug users, HIV positive, insane people or drunkers, so the need of abortions would be reduced to a minimum.
