Venezeula, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia are all more or less indepedent of America... although still heavily reliant.

Like I said though, this is nitpicking (like you ask for in the thread title! )

Didn't have a snowday today.

I'd estimate scenario to be 75% done. The food and production bonuses take forever.

I like how you are giving the developed countries units with extra bonuses to show their superiority(HP+, Attack+, etc.) and resource and wonders to make small but vastly developed land(Japan) rich. Gives it a very realistic feel, espically the darker aspects available to the underprivledged countries which are a reality in our world today.

The small future elements are a nice touch too. I'm looking foward to this.

I'm also quite far on putting it on the famous 362x362 map. I know I should just stick to one of these projects and get it done, but I always get new ideas. I'll finish 100x100 first though.

I am editing as I work. Takes a long time, but I'm more than halfway there.

I plan to release the 362 map with cities placed as a tool for other scenario makers to use.

Yahweh, as you appear to be Venezuelan, what do you think of this? Specifically, how should I represent area of Barquisimeto, Maracaibo, Valencia, Caracas, Barranquilla, and Cartagena. So many cities, so little space.

How are you going to model the densely packed areas? I know your doing things for the economic centers of the world, will you be doing the same for the massively overpopulated places to show their huge manpower?

Wow, 500 cities! This is quite a project. Why did you decide on giving the U.S and Russia so many cities, BTW? Is is just based on land area? You know you can up each city's culture as well if you just want to make the borders complete.

Also, this might be a dumb question, but where can I download the latest version? I checked the beginning of the thread and the apolyton downloads section and no dice. Did I miss it?

jason, actually you're right. why do the US and russia have so many cities? the US has "only" a quarter a million people, while china is over a billion and india is close to that billion. i think by area china and the states are similar (i'm just guessing here). shouldn't there be at least the same many?

btw: the four biggest EU-countries in your game (UK excluded) germany (80 million), france, italy (60 each), spain (40) already sum up to 240 million...

i agree that densely populated areas should have a lot of cities, but not a country like russia.

imho, the biggest exaduration is australia. 22 cities ?!? don't forget that the vast majority of the people live along the coast. and even there only on the south and east coast (with perth as only mentionable city in the west). the rest is hardly populated (except some natives, farmers, and crocodile dundee's ).

and something else strange: just the city of seoul has approx. 20 million people. israel iirc only 6-8 million... in total! and still, south korea has only two cities, israel three?

so basicly my opinion is:
reduce russian, american and australian cities
add chinese, indian and indonesian ones.

Of course. Resources with lots of extra food.

Numbers are still fluctuating. Those were just rough estimates so I wouldn't go way over or way under the limit.

jason, the scenario is in progress, as is clearly stated in the title.

sabrewolf, I will probably reduce Israel to 2 cities. The three cities don't fit within Israels RL borders.

US city numbers feel good to me. I've put down the cities and they aren't very densely packed.

Russia I'm not sure about as I haven't started work on it yet. Ditto for China.

I would like to give Indonesia a few more cities.

India has enough cities, as I will prove with an image:

Forgot to say: that's India with 22 cities. I still have 4 Indian cities in reserve in case I decide I need them.

General announcement: All cities have been placed except for Russia, China, Argentina, Brazil, Eastern Europe, and some of Canada. That's about 33% of all cities.

Lastly, SK. As you can see, it's nearly impossible to add a third city without major inaccuracy. I could move Pyongyang up, but that wouldn't be accurate. I could also put a city on the offshore island of Cheju, but I don't believe that island is at all important in the grand scheme of things.

China owns Tibet. That's a vast area of unpopulated land. Though if I do add cities anywhere, China, Indonesia, and Iran are my first priorities.

Here is Tibet. Do you see why I don't feel the need to pack it with cities?

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but you know you can place fewer cities in Russia and Australia and then just raise their starting culture values to extend the borders properly. You wouldn't want to have done all the work I saw earlier in this thread to get accurate military unit numbers but then have Russia with half again the population of China.

Or are you taking care of this by placing lots of Russian cities with low populations? This could solve a lot of problems, because you could concentrate a ton of population in Korea's few cities.

Or are you not worrying about population levels? I guess I wouldn't blame you--it's a huge project I could see where it would become too time consuming, especially if you're adding city improvements as well.
