my idea of what you want is:
1.- USA with Israel and some minor islands
2.- UK with Australia and South Africa
3.- Canada
4.- Mexico with Colombia and Venezuela
5.- Brazil with Ecuador
6.- Argentina with Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay
7.- Northern Sahara countries
8.- Middle African countries, Zaire, Senegal, Nigeria, down to Namibia
9.- Middle east countries like Iraq, Syria, Arabia etc.
10.- Tailand and southeast Asia
11.- China with North Korea and Mongolia and Taiwan
12.- India with part of Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and part of China, the region of Tibet
13.- the European Union
14.- the eastern European countries, like turkey, hungary, ukraine, etc.
15.- Russia with Cuba
16.- the "stan" countries, like afghanistan, pakistan, kazhakstan, tadjikistan, up to middle russia, but not all, novosibirsk still remaining russian.

Mostly, you mean the country with the highest number of inhabitants, not the largest area, when you speak about "largest country".
Algeria has 30.5 millions, Sudan 33.5 millions, Tanzania 30,6 millions, South Africa 42.8 millions, Kongo-Kinshasa 49 millions, Ethiopia 58.4 millions, Egypt 66 millions, Nigeria 110.5 millions.
So Nigeria is indeed the largest country in Africa. Sudan is the sixth and Algeria the eighth.
