Blame the NFL for it's rules... it was a legal hit. Most defenses are told to take their shots on interceptions and fumbles. As long as it is a part of the game, and the coaches encourage it, I have a hard time putting all the blame on a single player

I will agree with you on that... but it was a legal hit based on the rules of the game. If you don't like the hit, blame the rules, not the player. It happens all the time... this time it just happened to be caught on film, and the player was seriously hurt. Most of the time, the player just picks himself up and "remembers" it

What irritates me to no end is all the catching the ball with hands turned wrong.
I.E. going to the left, one's right hand should be on top.
Why? Three reasons.
In order to make a basket of one's arm's.
Raising them the other way puts an obstacle in the path of the ball.
One can't watch the ball into one's hands, with hands turned wrong.
Yeah. Professionals.

Oh, and how about this?

Anyone who saw the ridiculous multi-fumble return at the end of the first half of the Bears-Packers game will tell you -- once the ball is turned over, NO ONE IS OUT OF THE PLAY, no matter how far from the action.

That's why you hit whoever you can after a turnover. that's why the rules permit it. Despise Sapp all you want, but put him on my team every time!
