True. Maybe someone should go out there and calculate the team scores to give to him to post. That might get some chatter going. I'm surpised he hasn't done it. I could understand before since it took so much time. but now it couldn't take more than 15 minutes or so.

the rule is to never go for 2 unless it is the fourth quater.

new orleans almost burned themselves on that. They went for 2 in the second quater. I guess they thought Tampa Bay would only get field goals. So they wanted to be up by 6. Well tampa bay got a touchdown after that. And at the end of the game they were only down by 3. If they had went for the extra point TB would have been down by 4 which would requite a TD.

Never go for 2 unless it is fourth quarter. You never know how the score is going to play out. The NO/TB game I just decribed proves that.

You are correct, I was assuming it was the 4th quarter, but I could be wrong.

I believe the giants went for 2 early in the 4th.

With a lead, you go for 2 only to create leads of 3 or 7. Maybe 10. But IMHO with a lead of more than 7, it's clearly a mistake.

OK boys, about going for two.

You only do it when trailing late, or if it's late in the game, your ahead, and one won't help (For example, your up by one with 2 minutes left, THEN you go for two).

When your up by 12, you ALREADY are up by two TDs, you kick the point.
The fourth qaurter had just started when Fassel made that blunder, he thought the Giants couldn't score again (and thus showed no faith in his team, they did score again).
You kick the point, your up by 13, THEN if you later hit a FG (which is what happened), you would be up by THREE scores.
By going for two and failing, that late FG meant only a two score lead.

Any compentant coach knows this, and I'm not second guessing, I did scream when he went for two, and I did call McNair's QB draw.

Fassel NEVER looks at the downside, he always makes dumb choices.
This year he made mistakes in 6 losses that would have been wins if he hadn't made the wrong choices.
I have been calling for that idiot's head since 99, BEFORE he went to the Superbowl.

The guy is a HORRIBLE game tactitian, he simply DOES NOT understand the concept of killer instinct, he ALWAYS plays "not to lose", never plays to win.

We have an email group which includes people that root for all the different teams in the old NFC Central Division.
In it is also a guy who while being a Bears Fan, is also a hard core Giants fan. If you think you are rabid on the subject of getting rid of the moron, this guy puts you to shame on the subject. It started game one, and his emails have just gotten longer and nastier with every week

Fassel wins, it's about the only thing he could win.

Name another idiot that changes holders mid-season, when his kicker is 11-11, and causes 3 missed FGs and a missed PAT.

Name another fool that fails to call a time out with less then two minutes remaining with the other team in the red zone, and all they need is a FG to take the lead.

Who else tries to have his QB throw a pass in the flat with 18 seconds left in the half, up 7-0 from his OWN 20 that results in a pick an an easy TD for the other guys?

Who plays prevent in OT?

Who runs on 1st down EVERY play of an NFL game, when his RB is getting stuffed, going against 8 in the box?

Who fails to have a bonified NFL kicker AND punter at the start of a season?

Name another coach who was yet to put together a decent special team after SIX years.

What coach tries for two up 12 in the forth quarter, when his offense has severe red zone problems?

Who has the FEWEST TDs in the red zone, including expantion teams AND the Bengals?

This is just scratching the surface.

The answer to all these mistakes is the same:

FASSEL.

FIRE FASSEL.
