K, I just thought that I would bring it up as I never realized how strong a location Legopolis will become especially in regards to commerce by size 8. Admittedly the Palace situation and the centralized location of Legopolis make it a much better choice for REXing.

Currently our REXing cities are:
Legopolis
Farmerville

Our potential REXing cities will be:
Forkmouth
Sharpehaven

My suggestion would be that when we found another city in the south with a decent food and shield base in place (many of the southern locations will need help to get the number of shields up unfortunately) that Legopolis be eased off of REXing at that point.

Exactly, Sharpe. After aprox. 4 settlers (plus 4 mercenaries) and a temple, Legopolis should build a wonder (theoreticcaly; we might need soldiers instead, in which case they'll build barracks and units).

plans for 1790BC Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Movement/action proposals for 1790BC:

1) Angus N
2) Gaul NE, then N (hut), then SW (attacking the camp)
3) Conan W, then NW
4) MercG W, then W and W again
5) Merciless SE, then to Legopolis
6) Panama to start building a Galley placeholder (Merc)

ad 2) considering the fact that Gaul is only a Conscript, I believe it would be prudent to pop the hut first and attack the camp only then - with all the bonuses (defender+fortified), the barbarian warrior will have about 5% chance of killing Gaul. It's not that much, but if it happens, we certainly don't want to leave the hut unpopped there.

ad 3) as Conan's mission is to chart the shrouded area and get rid of the barb camp that must be somewhere S of Farmerville, I think it would be wise to steer him a bit westwards to that mountain - hopefully, he will be able to spot the camp from there, destroy it, and then finish charting the shrouded bit of our interior.

ad 6) I think Zargon proposed building a worker in Panama, while others (myself included) opposed the idea, pointing out at the low Panama pop growth rate. We will have three turns to take the final decision - I would personally go for a galley - Map Making will be discovered in 9 turns (do not get confused by that it currently is 10 turns - we need only three extra beakers total to speed the research up by a turn... with pop growth in Legopolis, we will get even more of beakers to spend on the MM research). That makes it possible to use a Numidian Mercenary as a placeholder, switching to a Galley just before the build completion.

1) Angus N
-Agreed
2) Gaul NE, then N (hut), then SW (attacking the camp)
-This makes the most sense, as you've described.
3) Conan W, then NW
-Yup
4) MercG W, then W and W again
-Yup
5) Merciless SE, then to Legopolis
-Bring 'em on home!
6) Panama to start building a Galley placeholder (Merc)
-Despite my eariler proposals, I would approve of a galley being built at this point. There is a great, wide ocean out there to explore, so we might as well start looking at it.

1. Angus N - OK
(Radek: Angus the Sailor )

2. OK

3. Good enough, but don't you think the results in what he'll see will be the same as if we'd move him W-N-NE? (while in the second case, he'd reach the northern black spot earlier)
Forget it, I've just read your explanation. Right, go to the mountain.

4. OK

5. OK

6. Yes, start a merenary and switch later to a galley. We can build the worker after.

It's been fixed earlier today. I have noticed that Trip (unlike BFM) was still sending saves to Jack_www & me. I asked him to fix the problem and he responded almost immediately. From 1790BC onwards, you should miss no save.

I agree with the proposed plan, this is just part of my drive to Prince level (and to add more support for the plan of course )

1) Angus N
Absolutely !

2) Gaul NE, then N (hut), then SW (attacking the camp)
Agreed, best to pop the hut first then attack the barbs

3) Conan W, then NW
Agreed that should get rid of that black trail

4) MercG W, then W and W again
Yes, until we reach Farmerville

5) Merciless SE, then to Legopolis
Agreed - too bad we can't include that whale in Dye Fields but we will need that hill for the city

6) Panama to start building a Galley placeholder (Merc)
Agreed

plans for 1750BC Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

Movement/action proposals for 1750BC:

1) Angus N
2) Gaul N, popping the hut, then SW attacking the camp
3) Conan NW
4) MercG W, then SW onto the mountain
5) Merciless W, then W, EDIT: then W again (onto the Poor Twin), then NW, and to Legopolis
6) new Panama Merc to go to the isthmus area (S, then S again)
7) Leopold to road his tile

I can' think of anything to add... the moves are so obvious and self-explanatory...

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

1) Angus N
N or NE should be fine - either are mountains - N should reveal more sea , NE more of the eastern area

2) Gaul N, popping the hut, then SW attacking the camp
Agreed

3) Conan NW
Sure

4) MercG W, then SW onto the mountain
Agreed

5) Merciless W, then W, NW, and to Legopolis
Might want to consider moving onto the mountain to see if there are any barb camps nearby

6) new Panama Merc to go to the isthmus area (S, then S again)
Agreed

7) Leopold to road his tile
Agreed

Lux is probably somewhere near GoW, so maybe we don't need their minimap after all. However, Vox's minimap would be much more interesting to see. We have no idea where they are.

Did we try to contact them in this matter?

I would guess that Lux is probably due east of GoW, not very far if that story about the capital threatening was true. Then, I would guess Vox is further east than that, probably in the NE cornor of the map. But, I would definately like to find out where they are once and for all.

Uffffff... The Chronicle has been completely redone, all the entries now conform to the new format, utilizing the fancy summary table, using more polished maps, and always showing the most up-to-date minimap. Clicking on any summary table, you will be able to download the XLS spreadsheet with the complete statistical data (I left it in the Excel XP format, just tell me, if you have a problem opening it - I would convert it to the Excel 97 format, if necessary).

I swear I am not going to change the format again... at least not backward-effective...

As I have indiciated before... anyone proposing a reasonable change to the chronicle entry structure now will be executed! OTOH, unreasonable change requests will be simply ignored, no hard feelings...

Cleaning up the server space, I have deleted some of the images no longer relevant - don't be surprised to see empty placeholders in some older posts... I have also moved the table showing times our workers need to finish various terrain improvements. It is now here:

Increase Your PM Length

This is a running notation of all moves made during the 1750 BC turn:

Merciless: W
MercG: W; spotted barbarian warrior directly south!
Conan: NW
Gaul: N; more friendly natives! We have been blessed with the knowledge of mysticism!
Panama Merc: S: and I took the liberty of renaming him Marky Merc. I hope a)somebody gets that, and b)nobody minds...
Leopold: Road work begins...
Angus: N; more mountains. hurrah!

At the end of the turn, the barb south of MercG took a defensive posture and moved onto the mountain next to him.

Turn over!

Put an end to popups!

Zargon (or Vondrack) could you please post at least the save of the last turn? Please ?!
I understand it that the Chronicle entry sopmetimes can not be prepared due to RP problems or whatever reasons, but is it so difficult to upload the save? If redstar's server is unavailable, then in your private storage space on Apolyton?
Thank you
