quote: Hello Darekill
Sorry to not have answered you yesterday evening, I'm still experiencing problems with my internet connection. I read your message, but it didn't let me reply
Something else: I'm normally leaving on a trip tomorrow to Saturday, if you want to contact GS, it's maybe best to CC Cort Haus and Arrian.
Oh, and congratulations on winning the election!
Trades: thanks for thinking of us. We are interested in trading with you, however the techs you've got, and saltpeter is not something we're looking for. The rubber perhaps, but probably only in a few turns. Could we come back to you about this? We're also waiting to see where the oil is, and if we're so unlucky with that resource as with all the others.
We would be more interested in having a trade embargo with Lego in effect, though. For the moment, we have stopped trading them anything, except a lux. If we could agree with ND and GoW to stop trading them even lux (so that they have to spend gold on their happiness), we would be most interested. A tech embargo would also be nice... we can offer everything they can offer you, and are certainly willing to discuss the price.

Hi Deepo,
Since I'm in charge to do the turns for ND.
I'd like to talk to you about possible trades.
Here is what we can offer:
Democracy and Military Tradition.
Rubber and Saltpeter.
Are you interested in any of these Techs or resources?
Greetings Darekill Primeminister of ND

It's not a matter of not wanting to trade with you! But we're just starting to get our defenses up (well, apart from our sea wall made from all the pikes and spears we could find), and without rubber, our riflemen are faster built and upgraded to infantry then building infantry from scratch would. We're trying to transform a disadvantage (not having a source of rubber) to an advantage (cheaper units).
We understand Lego asked little for their techs, and please rest assured you will get good deals from us. We can replace them for all their techs. In fact, we're ahead of them now and do not intend to fall behind any time soon.
As to price: I'm certain we can get a deal there. However, I'm not certain I understand the precise amount: Do you say you gave them 4 lux for their 1, and further 10% of beaker cost for every tech? We probably could live with that, however we don't need 4 lux... we already have a 2 lux for 2 lux deal, and are in the process of getting another one from GoW, which still don't have incense which we want to trade with them.
Could you give us a pure gold for beaker price? Unofficially, I'm certain 25% would be acceptable, which could lower in case you promise not to sell any extra lux to Lego.
This is only a rough idea, but if you promise to keep Lego out of lux, and we do the same (and ask GoW to do the same as well), I'm pretty certain we would be more then happy to sell you our techs at 15%, without any lux attached. Our pimary goal right now is to keep Lego from gaining even more advantage on the rest of the teams. We are definately willing to compensate you for your efforts.
Many greetz,

Hi Deepo,
I'm sad to hear that you do not wish to deal with us right now, though I can understand your Position right now.
As for the Techembargo against Legoland, you said you'd be able to replace Legoland. If this is true you must know that they traded a lot to us just for
Luxury and 15% of the development costs of Techs. Would you be able to go that far?
If we would prefer to deal with you. If you can't beat that price just tell me what you could do best and I'll try to work out something.
I'm this brief because I kbow your time is valuable

Hello Darekill,
All good news, it seems!
rubber: I'm sure some rate on which to trade it to tech would suit us fine, but let's discuss that when we need it.
20% gold for beakers sounds perfect to me, but to be sure, let me run it by my team first.
Lego embargo: we are currently also trading 1 lux to them for theirs, but AFAIK we do not have any other deal in effect then that we would warn them 1 turn in advance before we would stop it. We can thus stop it at any time without breaking deals (with a 1 turn warning). We are willing to do so, but of course, just one lux would mean nothing. If however ND, GoW, and us do that, it would cost them dearly. Is there any possibility that you can stop the deal, without breaking it?
As to sanitation: Thx. Lego has the productive power, the population, and the GNP to build those hospitals exrtemely quickly, and fill their metropoles asap. If that happens, they will have more production and gold then ND and GS combined. Even now they're scary... every little bit we can slow them down is one bit won.
I'll post your proposal to our forum, to see if everyone agrees (I think they will). Please let me get back to you asap.
Best regards,
DeepO

Hello DeepO,
We understand that you want to wait for the rubber. We will have it probably still in
Reserve when you need it and we can sum it up against a techtrade that I'm sure we will soon
start.
We already have started an embargo against Legoland that prevented them from getting
Sanitation from us. Mostely a delay for them but nevertheless something to slow them.We
still will continue to give them one Luxury Resource. We have an obligation to do so and it
is and has never been the policy of ND to break treatys.
We are still interested to keep up the 2 lux for 2 lux deal we have with you.
So that sets the base of the conditions of the techtrades to come . I'd propose that under
this conditions 20% of the researchcost of Techs should be paid in gold from us to you. We'd
welcome a paiment from turn to turn in fixed rates.
Would this comfort you?
greetings

e-mail included with save:
quote: Hello Darekill,
I've sent you refining unaccepted. If you want to buy it from us at 20% beaker cost, please offer, and you will receive it next turn. You've got plenty of oil sources, by the way...
I'm not entirely sure refining is 3840 or 3600 beakers (forgot the exact price). I asked our team, but maybe you know this by heart. That should make either 768 or 720 gold, though.
Scientific Method we prefer to keep for ourselves for the moment. We want to trade this with you as well, and if you want we want to sign a contract for that, but as long as Lego doesn't have it, the price for them is bigger if we don't trade it around.
Thanks,
DeepO |

quote: Darekill,
No problem with giving the tech in front, we trust you will pay in time. I assume you offered the 250 gold in return to our offer of refining, if so, I'll accept it once it returns with the save, and refining is yours.
As to Scientific Method: It really isn't a problem of price. But the moment another team has it, Lego will need less research to get it. We want to keep them in the dark as long as possible. I hope you can be patient regarding this tech, and atomic theory and electronics (the 3 other techs we've got and noone else has). If you really need them, I'm sure we can arrange something, but for the moment we want to do everything to keep Lego from benefiting.
kind regards,
DeepO

Hello Deepo,
Thanks a lot for your fair offer. We are also glad to hear that we have Oil.
We can't afford to pay the sum of 750g in one rate thogh. but we will send you 250g accepted this turn and the next two turns to pay it. If you do trust us in that we would be pleased to receive the technology in advance if you want to get payed first, well that would be acceptable for us too. Just send it then after you received the last rate.
As soon as you can estemate what you would like to charge us for Scientific Resources we can start to pay that and receive it the moment you can give it to us.
You see we are trustful people.
greetings
Darekill Prime Minister of ND
