So what about the border agreement then?
Is it gonna be broken by us, or by them?

I've revised my position. I think we must settle that lake city, with the settler from Toledo.

You are right, we should know what is the status of that old agreement, and certainly our diplomats should work it.

Very well Señor Generalissimo... and if we need the situation with ND to escalate, we might send a diplomat who can act kinda rude and press them out of that area. Diplomacy can often work slowly I guess, so we will have plenty of time to prepare before a war breaks out... Or we can renegotiate a border deal, if we want to pretend we are their friends.

If we take this lands we don't need to go to war with them. If the confrontation exists don't flee from it, but don't go for a gratuite confrontation.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

There is not settlement agreement. We proposed to give them the North Valley, they never agreed to it. This was prior to Lux's destruction. Now that Lux is gone they seem to be eyeing all of Old Luxia. We could move into this area, but we should be warry to not move too quickly into an area we can't protect ... and spread our defenses thinly along the border.

Proposed City Sites Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I'm making this proposal in hopes that other's will make their propsals also. More ideas mean a better chances for Spain to come out on top.

The way I see it, there are many tiles already overlapping. But you don't need many cities to over size 20 either, so that's not a bad thing since many bonus tiles can be switched around to give Spain the best use of it's total population.

In my image, I can see moving city "1" SE one tile and City "2" NE or E one tile also.

If you have some ideas put them up here. Don't be shy.

Also Togas has a map of proposed sites here , just scroll down to the last pic, you'll see it.

Looks sensible to me.

We already have settlers on the way to 6, X, and 1, iirc.

For the rest I would recommend the following order of settlement: 3,5,7,8,9,4,2.

Updated Map Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

This is the updated cities layout map, following the proposal of our King Togas.

The cities have been tagged following the chronological order of foundation, it is only a suggestion in the case of the ones yet to come (the idea is colonizing the coast first and then filling the gaps, except for cities 12 & 13).

(#) (Name)
--- -------------
12 Mérida
13 Valladolid
14 Santander
15 Murcia
16 Cádiz
17 Lisboa
18 Córdoba
19 Albacete
20 San Sebastián

Some thoughts:

City #12 connects Sevilla to our territory. It is in a good place to grow and maybe could supply one or two settlers to the south...

City #13 could be N of this current position, between the mountain and the silk. It would give us control over the jungle, but at cost of more distance to Pamplona and less production/growth until the jungle is cleared.

City #18 is a good place to build the Forbbiden Palace.

Btw, I find it alarming that these expansion plans allowed ND to settle the whole valley in the north. We could have taken both the north and the south... Now it's too late.

Thanks Astrologix!

I have been thinking about the open space north of Pamplona... now that ND has expanded NE the only place we can take is between Zaragoza and Toledo.

A new city placed there would be at distance 2 of the two cities (our troops could move without detection of ND's annoying border patrols). Moreover, It would protect our capital and the silks resource west of Toledo.

The turndown is, as stated in the previous post, the jungle itself. The southern tiles of the proposed "f" city should be cleared, maintaining the others to slow Ansars / Riders advance.

Put an end to popups!

I've been thinking of relocating city "13" ... moving it to location "f" is a very good idea.

It's not an urgent city, and will require some pre-development, but we should probably build it before ND builds in this region.

Good job Fibrizzo, I like "f" better than "13." "13" won't allow Toledo or Pamplona very much room for growth.

I agree, settling the south is far more important that building on "f" spot now.

The thing that concerns me is that if ND builds near there could get the silks resource and if we retaliate It would be an excuse for them to attack us...

I agree too. Settling the south will give us more resources, food and production.

Now it's too late for the competition of the north. Only way is to use force. We were to slow...

Got spare money?

Yes, it was a happy time then. Ah, the days of the church dominance and of the civil wars between the monarchists and the republicans. The nationalism was very strong then. Oh well, we can be proud on a rich history.
