A contingent of French soldiers was reported ambushed today. Military intelligence, suspiciously quickly, has announced that Spanish forces were behind the attack. PM Crian Vayer has used the incident as an opportunity to declare war upon Spain.
From France:
To Spain: We declare war.
To Portugal: We won't expect you to participate, unless you want to. We simply cannot allow Spain to get away with attacking French troops.
To Italy (secret): We're going to help you out, in exchange for territory along the French border.
To Cuba: You heard the King. Withdraw, or face war. France considers you a friend, but we must stick by our allies here.

First, the majority of the inhabitants of Aruba do not speak Spanish, but Dutch, as they work at the oil refinery there.
Second, we are a democracy, we have regular revolutions. My actions are justified to my people, we have proper and rightous causus belli in both wars. Which leads me to my next point:
We declare war on you, and thumb our noses at you silly Cuban kniggets.
To the USA: Cuba just fought a war against you, and is the only one to occupy american territory! You will simply become their ally so quickly? I do not beleive that you will. Please stay neutral in this conflict.
To AA:
Your limited alliance with me could me interpreted in such a manner that you would be obligated to assist our forces in Cuba. It states we will assist each other in Central America. A recent survey of French cartographers indicates that the West Indies is in fact a part of Central America. Still, we will not ask you to honor such a vague wording, except that you stay neutral in the conflict.
The French army has progressed through the Pierenees, and controls a small portion of Spanish land. Troops have been ordered to dig in and hold their current positions from Spanish aggression, allowing a small army to be diverted to a naval assault against Aruba. The powerful French navy announces a blockade of Cuba, and is en route to liberate Aruba, in coorperation with a larger and united BENEDEFRA taskforce.

To Holland: In order to avert war, we will allow you to operate the oil refinery withought any harrassment, we are aware of the Dutch influence, however; a majority of the people are not Dutch, they are Carribean Islanders (cia world factbook) ((OOC: additionally, the oil refinery is not nearly as large an operation this time period as it is IRL, as the first one was built in 1926))

To the nations of America: Who are you going to listen to, France, a nation that has taken more American Lives than the entire nation of Cuba, or Cuba, a nation that has established a beachhead ONLY, and is willing to return territory in the US without any reparations. Any American Nation backing Cuba is enough to stop France and Holland. All American Nations banded together can stop European imperialism, I implore you to listen to reason and look to the facts! As for the blocade, if they are blocading me, they are blocading the following nations with which cuba has trade routes with.
1. Britain- the British Empire is the biggest importer of Cuban products.
2. Argentina and Brazil- The french blocade means that your warships on your bases in Cuba are halted, additionally, approximately 1/3 of your exports are no longer being purchased.
Join with me in the destruction of the French Blocade!

Contracts have been awarded to improve airplanes and tanks. Many compaines with in Austria are starting to produce protypes to be tested and the company with the best protype will win the contract. This is expected to improve Austria economy greatly. The protypes will be done in 2 years time.

Of course. We shoul have known, but now we have complete faith in your good intentions. You are only looking out for the good of the Spanish people, and therefore you will of course leave Spain as completely independant once you are finished installing a legitimate and benevolent government. We applaud your noble efforts, being so generous as to look out for the Spaniards without any thought of compensation beyond moral fulfillment.
Message to the Indian Anarchists responsible for the assassination:
You have picked the wrong time to piss us off. We are hunting you. If you were not part of the assassination, cooperate and nothing will be done to you. Otherwise, you better get your asses out of British territory pretty damn quick, because we're coming for you.
Just to show they weren't joking, British officials have made this message widely known, with a bit of extra nonsense about protecting the citizens safety etc., and are improving intelligence and simililar operations to lessen the chance of this kind of thing happening again, as well as attempting to root such organizations out before they can do anything.
In an astounding series of legislation, the parliament with the approval of the monarch has almost unanimously decided to turn the British Empire into a democratic union of states, somewhat similar in structure to the system operating in the U.S. (not politically/socially, just in government structures). Certain powers are reserved to the 'federal' government, and certian rights are guaranteed to all citizens and any state that grants rights or priveleges must grant them to all citizens, including from different states. There is still a united military and diplomacy is conducted by the federal government. There is a national legislature, and individual legislatures. But aside from basic stuff along those lines, the states get to decide their own stuff. Effectively all colonies have been granted a great deal of autonomy. The new government of the British Commonwealth has informed the members of the colonies that, now that they have nothing to complain about, any attempt at secession or the like will be met with equal retaliation. If you want to talk about it, and keep the institutions functioning while it is discussed, that's fine, but if there is any use of force or the like it will be responded to swiftly and justly.
