I donīt think there is much of a law against hurting US interests outside your own territory, ally or no.

Anyway, Austria is not a NATO member, so the US arenīt our allies. Personally I consider them enemies, but thatīs just me.

Combat Tribune, Sure I don't think it would be against Austrian laws.. but NATO members could face some tough times, I believe they have the same problems if they go there, as do US citizens..

Same goes here even when we're not NATO member except in the peace project, there's finnish citizen who has been caught in arms dealing with Iraq, he's been arrested here and he's about to face some serious charges.. Sure it's illegal anyway to be arms dealer, but they could even give him to the hands of US, giving him a free trip to Quantanamo vacation center. Personally I hope they do that.
Disclaimer: He was not born here, he's been admitted citizenship, his original country being Iraq so.. I think he's facing hard time. So, in a way we kind of think Iraq as our enemy too, and US more like ally even when we don't have military alliance.

Here's the legal definition of treason in the constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Personally, Iīd say itīs not a good idea to give citizens of known troublemaker countries, such as Iraq, Israel or the United States, citizenship here.

And yes, if selling arms to Iraq was against the law, and he did it from your territory, then prosecuting the guy is alright.

Delivering him to a rogue state like US, though, would be a crime. As a non-US citizen, his actions in Finland *cannot* be a crime against the US. Wait for him blowing up the US Embassy, before you even *consider* extraditing him.

Well, I believe these people are doing what their hearts tell them to. To sacrifice oneself for one's ideals is a trully noble thing, something to be admired in people, and I believe we should do what we can to help them.

They are doing this to deter attacks, but that isn't likely to happen unless we know where they are so we won't that location. So, to assist them, I propose that we give each and every one a GPS unit, so we know which of Saddam's critical facilities are being shielded.

Yes, but what they are doing is still stupid. Do they really think that if they stand in front of bullet that they will actually stop the slaughter? Or if you stand in front of a missle that it will actually stop dead in its tracks when it sees you? They are smart bombs, just not that smart.

It is noble to stand up for your ideals, and even more noble to try and do something to see that these ideals are upheld. Yet, to die for them ensures that there will eventually be no one left with your ideals and that you will have failed.

I feel sorry for these stupid people.

There is something in what you say, but otoh they are going to create quite a stir. Some Americans will think twice about the traitors in Washington killing their own people, and European governments will dislike you even more, if you kill THEIR people.
