	Westerns as human shields in Iraq Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Iraqi sympathists from both the US and Europe are starting to fly to Iraq to stand near strategic locations and act as human shields, to defer the U.S. and British forces from attacking those locations.

Said one of the ringleaders (forgot the name), who was a former marine in the Gulf War: "Perhaps now they [USA, UK] will reconsider their position on whether to attack Iraq or not"....

I heard this on television and the newsnet, and I gotta say this totally disgusts me. Those traitors. I hope they get bombed, personally. At the very least they should never be allowed to return to U.S. soil, or British soil. How dare they!

Saddam is a menace to his people, his neighbors, to the world. How dare these people, who have enjoyed the liberty and freedom of democracy, go out and defend this lunatic? A man who has not disarmed according to a treaty that he signed when he lost the war 10 years ago, a man who has encouraged terrorism through various resources (such as funding terrorist organizations, building weapons for sale on black market, ordering the bombing of U.S. embassies), a man who has no regard for human life at all, even his own people.... this is disgusting.

I'm very proud that I will be going to Iraq once U.S. and British operations start. I am honored to serve my country and do my part to liberate a people who have no food, money, and barely shelter, not to mention no freedom whatsoever.

Who was the pro-commie female singer who flew from the U.S. to North Vietnam so she could star in anti-U.S. propoganda films during the Vietnam War? Was it Jane Fonda? Seriously, giving aid to forces which are at war with your country is the definition of treason.

Problem is, this won't stop the attack. If these people were really smart (and cruel), they'd use children as well... but then, that would defeat their propogana purpose, wouldn't it?

The U.S. discourages duel citizenship but allows it with every country. Which I'm glad for since I'm a duel citizen.

Saddam used his own people as human shield in the first war. He'll use them again. I don't see how any Westerners in the mix will make much difference.

I think so too, along with every other "controversial" nationality. I'd probably limit it to western Euro, the US, Japan (and maybe a couple of other stable Asian countries).

If they're in the way though, I'd shoot them, but still I would have respect for them.
They won't stop any wars, they are not sabotaging anything, they're just waving flowers, ready to get butchered. That's the way it's gonna be and they know it. I wouldn't call them traitors. Stupid maybe.

Just stupid if they don't defend the place other than standing in the way. If they do more, then sure, but not before. Of course this is only my opinion and not the official truth
Or maybe, if they have a realistic chance to stop government operation by just standing, then it could be more than just stupid. But they don't have any realistic chances for that ever happening.

Sure it is, I just think that they are not giving any help to Iraq. Officially yes they are helping them, but this is my personal opinion, and I know it's bit weird, yes. I won't say I'm right, since I kind of wonder why I think this way myself.

For some reason, the last 60 years seem to have been sans the law in people's minds.

They don't seem to think that treason is treason, and that the Constitution can be ignored whenever it suits them.
Even the Federal government is guilty of it, the law is fighting a losing battle.
