Now that we know Lux has contact with Vox, Its high time we started diplomatic relations with them.

Question: Should we get Vox involved in the developing war? Of course, they would need mapmaking, but that is just one tech away if they have/are given writing. My only fear is that they might be involved, but come in on the side of Lux, since Lux has previously contacted them, and helped relations between those two countries.

We can see Vox's cultural zone on the fringe of our map. I sent a memo to Eli, Dissident, and Jon_Miller (3 of their members who play the game) informing them of this and that our warrior would be on the southern hill where it should have a better chance of seeing their territory in two turns.

I don't want Vox involved. Lux is going to be a cakewalk for us and ND although it might bring Roleplay into the fray on Lux's side.

But ND's going to take the brunt of that attack.

Vox would probably take up some of the territory and we need to claim all of Lux's lands.

I agree the war with lux should just be us and nd. First we get more that way and second it allows the element of surprise. The more people involved the more likely it is that word will leak out and that could be nothing short of disaster.

I think we need to know if they have any contact with anyone... Then we can do a chain get contacts... like Vox, GS, Lego.

But this probably isn't the case. Should we tell them of our dealings with Lux and Roleplay?

They have contact with GS and Lux (I asked them). I think Lego will require Mapmaking which is why I want Writing so bad. I think we could be the first civ to make contact with all the others. Assuming Lux is still around at that point.

Our warrior is close to making contact with your team, but unfortunatly, we cannot because there is no units in your cultural boarder where we can see them. Our warrior is just across the one tile straight across from your lands. If Vox could please move a unit so that we can make official in game contact, it would be much appreciated. Do they have writing ?

If not, they must be well behind us...unless Lux has been feeding them.

Perhaps offer them a good tech deal, if they study writing now.

I think Lux's death was caused by a Vox backstab, and have said it in a public forum, they can't be trusted, and propogating fear of them should help us.

For 40 gold? What about the tech they are currently working on?

Unless they increase this offer to the tech they are working on I say we go with it and burn their civ to the ground. It is blatantly obvious to me that they consider us their sworn enemy from the proposals and diplomatic cold shoulders they are giving us.

First, they insult us by using Lux to try and get MM for free, and then offer us less than the Lux offer. (They were going to give us a worker as well)

Some options....
Tell them we will accept a gpt payment....or better still, tell them we will agree, but they sell their next tech advance to us for the same price...(or their free tech in the next age)

Dunno ... 40g is pretty cheap...even if it does come with a WM

Dont be afraid to tell them no.... And suggest to ND that they sell MM to Vox ASAP.

Or just agree to 40g...or else RP will sell it to them.

Next tech trade round, we offer a low price, or we embargo them with our tech, and sell at a high price.

I told Vox we wanted to trade polytheism, and they said:

I get mixed up with Polytheism and Philosophy.

I offered polytheism to Vox for 49 gold (to avoid paying 10 gold to RP), and philiosophy to Vox for 60 gold.

There are no other civs to offer it to them, the other three that have it all agreed to not trade it to them except ND which is offering it for more than us and has agreed to pay us the price we were asking Vox for.
