Actually that sounds like a rather good idea.
Although then there'd be an awful lot of NZ civs.

It might be interesting to see whether or not the style of civ-play mirrors the team in question...

Does anyone know what type of team the Renegades are? I remember seeing an article mentioning that one of the Super 12 sides had beat them, but I couldn't find any information on them.

Renegades? They're not a Super 12 team. I'll look into it.

Edit. The Bulls - one of the Springbok S12 teams - played a couple of practice matches against a team called the Renegades. The Renegades were a composite team made up of players who hadn't made any of the 4 Springbok S12 squads. I notice there's also a Canadian rugby team called the Renegades, but it wasn't them.

Just wait until you have them to the North, East, West and South of you. Then your little not-hill might start to look like a mountain.

I probably would indeed. But are you ready for this heresy – I never got Civ 2 MP.

Good news for France – Dawson is out. That is excellent for them on two fronts – for Gomersall is from Glaws and also he is nowhere near the same calibre of player. With Healey and Bracken injured we are really scraping the barrel here.

In all fairness he is probably having his best season ever – but he has never convinced me as an international scrummy. And he has no loyalty – hops clubs far too often for a Tigers man to admire.

Poor old Jonno - he would be devastated to know he falls under your radar.

Two reasons - I've never been hugely into MP games and also, becuase I sit on a very fast link at work I have only ever bothered with 56K dial up at home.

And you have to experience UK ISPs to understand how poor they are.

I must read back through Tamerlin's posts and research his solution.

[QUOTE] Any idea which patch you used to upgrade (from FW?)?
I tried one some time ago and ended up having to reinstall due to a number of corrupted files.

You will find the patch here:
http://hometown.aol.com/cedricgreene/mge.html

Download the 2.42 to MGE.exe to upgrade a Classic Civ2 updated with the 2.42 patch. It might be possible to update from FW with the MGE Zips file.

Excellent idea though the hour difference between our respective countries will be a nightmare. I must admit my own weird time schedule could ease the whole process.

This is probably my last post before the game so I would like to say good luck to France, may the best team win.

I truly and honestly believe that is England of course - Go you good England men go!

All together now:

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

Havka will return - win or lose.

The simple solution, obviously, is to stop wasting so much money on paint and wallpaper and channel some of it into a home cable connection.

Yes, the sound was a lot more raw in the early days. True of a lot of bands. Here's a bit of Grand Funk trivia for you - one of the original members, I forget which, was with a famous American one-hit wonder band called ? and the Mysterians who had a massive hit with a song called 96 Tears somewhere around '65 or '66.
