I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. When I called EB Games to see if Mo03 has hit their shelves yet, their reply was that Feb 25 shows up on their computer as "shipping date" - the game should be on the shelf on the 27th.

Is Feb 25th as "simultaneous world-wide launch" false advertising? Or does it mean that the distribution centers in each country will receive its copies today (or have earlier) and they will be sent out "in country" from there?

I guess what I'm wondering is whether February 25 (today) was actually "shipping date" - an announcement I would've expected several days prior to seeing it on the store shelf?

Or maybe not all EB Games stores are created equal? I'll just go back to feeding the penguins then (joke).

Went through the tutorial and tried to play a bit but still dont know wheres the difference between test-tubes and research-points...

Gotta have to read the manual. Not a lightweight though, with its 160 pages. (WOOT!)

I went to EB and Compusa, they dont have it, the guy at EB said that they would get it tommorow!!!
I thought it would be out today, I had to take the bus over there and missed the one that took me back. So I had to walk back. Damn it I took the day off from school so I could get it when it came out today. DAMN IT!

I did find a game i was looking for , for a long time and was in there bargin bin. So I did go empty handed, but still I wasted a half a day trying to look for Master of Orion 3, when it will be out tommorow!!

So all the damn rumors that the stores had it weeks ahead of time were all wrong. None of them have it in the store, they are waiting for it to ship to them, which is today.

I contacted both EB's here in London, Ontario, Canada and they are also saying the 27th. However, I contacted Future Shop here in London and they are saying maybe by tonight. I hope so.

Just realized the manual in on the CD in pdf format.
I thought about uploading it so you guys have sth while waiting, but I doubt my server could stand such a croud...

On IGMoo they've posted tons of links to people hosting it, and most of those sites are down due to overuse of bandwidth...

But I've got my copy of the manual and the read me...

The Washington D.C. metro area is completely devoid of the game

Best Buy says it's still being shipped
EB doesn't have a clue
CompUSA is equally clueless, but at least they could (like Best Buy) offer a list of stores and number of shipments
Walmart has the nice little price tage and shelf space reserved for it, but everyone I talked to in person or on the phone was completely clueless

Do I have to do this every single day until someone miraculously gets the game or would it be possible that they could just tell us what day they expect the shipments to come in?

I think this was a rotten thing for the publisher to do. They made it sound like the game would be available worldwide today (the 25th). I knocked off work to go buy their product only to be informed if wouldn't be available until the 27th.

I don't care about ship dates, I want to know when the game will be in my hands. Thanks a lot Infogrames for being misleading and wasting my time.

I had to ask though: did you scan a hardcopy manual to produce the pdf file or did it come like that on the game CD? If it's the latter, it seems very amateurish (2 pages reduced to be side by side) and worries me as a sign that things were rushed at QS or IG.

If the former, then even more thanks for your work.

Oh, I guess it is not a problem then. I remember that they didn't want the manual for civ3 being passed around.

My girlfriend has promised me the first one out of the box when she gets it in at the software distributer that she works for.

They were expecting it in today, but due to bad weather on the East coast (Damm you Mother NATURE! Damm you all to hell!) it's been delayed by one day.

Mmmm...software at cost....what could be better.

But even though I really don't care for eye-candy, and I'll approach this game with an open mind (not to mention trembling fingers ), it's a pain that we can't get a sensibly formatted pdf manual. What other explanation can there be except that the release was rushed?

Ok, *takes deep breaths*, manuals are minor things. But I'd be ashamed to produce something like that in a beta copy of a game, never mind the finished product. Look at it this way: surely the manual source at QS was stored in a sensible format. I mean, they surely didn't keep it all on post-it notes and suddenly think: "Heavens! the release is in 3 weeks, we'd better think about typing this stuff up". And I can't believe that whatever format they stored it in couldn't have been used to create a nicer pdf file than the one we have.

I suppose that it might be a deliberate decision to produce it the way it looks. Sort of an old-manual-found-on-a-derelict-space-freighter kind of thing. But it's hard on my old eyes. And I've only moaned about the format; the font they've used is another problem.

But to repeat: game play is all and I'll forgive QS/IG totally if the thing plays well.
