Tucson, AZ, eh?

(Arnelos reminisces about his college years at UofA)

I was living in Tuscon only 8 months ago

If Tucson already has the game... If I had one of my college buddies buy it and send it 1-day delivery to me in the Washington, D.C. metro area... would it arrive before the shipments of the game arrive in stores here?

(probably not... but it's funny to think about)

Put an end to popups!

My preorder from EBGames.com, placed about a year ago, shipped on the 25th. Unfortunately, though I payed for FedEx overnight, the bad weather "back East" delayed it and I won't get that copy until tomorrow.

But they hadn't run out yet at the local Software Etc. store (Fremont CA USA) so I picked up a copy to play tonight. I'm lucky - I have a friend who doesn't *need* to have it ASAP who already said he'd be willing to buy a copy off me if something like this happened.

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I bought mine about an hour ago at a local B.C. Future Shop.

They only had 4 copies left and some guy with a smelly diaper kid was looking at one of the copies, I grabbed one and have just installed it and now I'm going to read the manual.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

This morning, wed 26th, two of my local retailers received a few copies just for SOME lucky having pre-ordered. All the others including myself shall wait 1-2 more weeks at least, and that's just for pre-orders again.... I don't have it, I CAN'T have it. But something around 25-30 lucky fans have it right now in my city ( belle ville de Québec, Qc, CANADA ). So the game was being sold this morning, but no copies to be found on the shelves. A Future Shop received only 8 copies instead of the 70-80 ordered!.... Did Infogrames intentionally cut some international shippings in order to supply an underestimated US market???

I sincerely hope you guys BTs and lucky purchasers you'll have a wonderful gametime; perhaps by the time you'll easily kick Ithkuls and New Orions, It will be my first timid step trying to make gov plans, creating TF , and learning the financial sliders.....

I'm off for a few days, goodbye.

P.S.: INFOGRAMES: you SUCK

Compusmart in Edmonton has about 100 copies available spread between their three stores.

Future Shop most likely has them too.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

My Wife, bless her heart, has just graced me with the game at work. While I can't play until I get home, I can read the manual.

I have called the EB games in the mall by my house 3 times today. They told me they hadn't received their shipment today all 3 times.

I had my wife call after I went to work, she is told they still haven't received their delivery. "But", he says, " have you tried other EB stores in the area?"

"Where are other stores?" my wife asks.

"Oh, there is one at the Forum." WHICH IS 1 AND A HALF MILES FROM MY HOUSE!!!!!!

They have 5 copies available.

But, in my defense, I didn't think The Forum would have an EB, because the EB in the mall is only about 5 miles from my house.

The Forum store is between my house and the mall store.

ACK!

Nothern California: Sacramento Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

I was able to pick up the game at the EB store in the downtown mall in Sacramento today at 1pm,
They should have had it earlier but they manager said that the shipment of games missed their plane, so it had to take a later flight, so the games have been on sale there since 1pm
Dont know if anyone had posted this yet, but I thought I would just in case.

Suffering from ads?

Had to teach a class after work last night - at 9:30 pm those places that were still open didn’t have any copies. I was able to get my hands on the manual however and reading it was probably as far as I would have gone last night anyways. Will attempt to pick a copy up tonight, or even make some calls around lunch time.

Well I've had it for a couple of days now. Bought it at Compusmart in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for $80 CAD. I know, ouch. Pretty sweet game though I'd have to agree with some of the reviewers that sometimes there doesn't seem to be much to do as your viceroys take care of almost everything.

Houston, TX - Heard about availability in the Galleria. Stopped by the Meyerland Gamestop.com store on the way home from work. They had three copies on the shelf, I bought one, and as I walked out, the clerk took another one off the shelf. Couldn't tell if she was holding one for someone (possibly herself), or something else, so it might or might not have gone back on the shelf later.

Frederick, MD Best Buy had close to a full box, probably at least 20 copies. For some reason it's not on the shelves. You have to ask for it or find the box (as of an hour ago anyway). Careful in the lot. It wasn't plowed.

In Victoria BC Canada! Put an end to popups!

Got it last night at London Drugs in Victoria for $80.21 CAD (69.99 + $10.22 tax.) Originally they were charging $79.99 plus tax , but I told them it was cheaper at, well, everywhere else so they came down

Electronic Boutique refused to release it until today. Future Shop put it on the shelves yesterday morning and was rewarded by being sold out by the afternoon.

I played for about 2 hours last night and got a good idea of the immensity of the game! It will take some time to figure out my strategy ("Make infrastructure, not war!!") but I am happy so far. Unlike MOO2 and Civ2, the computer players don't seem to hate me for having flesh!

More to follow, I'm sure!
