	I got jumped Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Man, yesterday was such a ****ing high, and then on my way home with Bunnygrrl's bike, some ******* decided he'd try and take it. I wasn't paying a lot of attention. It's the suburbs, what happens here?

"You got any money, dog?" BAM! into my left cheek. "Luckily" I was moving at an awkward angle for him to hit me or I shouldn't be here to tell you all about it. It took a moment for my brain to register what had happened, as I kept peddling, and then noticing that he was still running next to me. So I sped up. I mighta stopped to fight if it was just him, but he had four or five of his boys with him, one of who'm had circled around behind me.

I got a shiner. I have to go into my first day of work looking like a freak and someone who gets into fights. This is really what upsets me most. I have once chance to make a first impression. Maybe I can get an eye patch.

It occured at a place I have to go past all the time. The police didn't find the guy, and even if they did, it's a 2nd class misdemeanor, i.e., no jail time. So now I'm paranoid (rightfully so) that it could happen again.

So now I'm all out of sorts. I'm screaming racial epithets in my head. I wanna grab my baseball bat or my sword and go back and **** these guys up. I wanna go buy a gun. How am I supposed to go out at night past the place where these guys hang out?

At least it wasn't worse.

Probably, but you gotta remember, that's kinda artificial given the presence of drug laws and the like. Those aren't real crimes, in the sense that mugging someone is a real crime.

Poverty and the criminalization of addiction (drug laws) are the two biggest contributors to crime in America. And politicians (Rep and Dem) don't really care about fixing either of them.

I would think in Florida that he'd get jail time. Just remember if you shoot the SOB to kill him (its harder for muggers who are dead to sue you for infringing on their rights). Luckily you dont live in a bleeding heart NE state.

Mike, yeah, the end result of liberal politicians representing their constituents. If they do get jail time they get TVs, good food, sports, and a huge weight room so that the next time they can hit Che hard enough to take him down.

Hmmm... In the UK if someone assaults you you are prefectly legally entitled to physically defend yourself against them.

In the UK there is absolutely no chance of a kid bike thief having a gun, luckily.

FelchX, I think that's why there's so few white guys in prison. For us, it is a nasty place to be, a serious punishment. I'd much prefer 20 years of solitary to 20 years in with the population being Bubba's best girl.

I'm a 195lb freight ape that doesn't put up with alot of crap and knows some stuff, but on the inside of prison walls it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Don't get me wrong, I'd fight, it just wouldn't matter in the end. If they couldn't do it with 1 they would bring 2, or 3 or however many it took. In the army I heard a few things. Don't go to prison.

Che, where is your compassion for these victims of centuries of brutal capitalist racist oppression? You should have appeased them by giving these victims everything they wanted and then submitted to a beating to pay for sins of the past.

I wouldn't worry about what your work will think. They will know that you are not a fighter by you personality, and they may have a little pity on you

I don't know about selfdefense. Is there another route to take? If not, use a noise maker in combination with a taizer (sp?). I wouldn't recommend a gun. If you use it you are likely to get in trouble, especially since your robbers aren't using one.

****, if you have to I just give them the bike. Maybe you can get a cheaper one.
