That said, I think one of the following might work:

1. IAS: Imperial Apolytonian Ship
2. AIS: Apolytonian Imperial Ship
3. RAS: Republic of Apolyton Ship
4. ARS: Apolytonian Republican Ship
5. ACSS: Apolyton Civilization Site Ship
6. AS: Apolytonian Ship

Personally, I really like #1, perhaps #3 (Consul system and a Republic, afterall).

I'd suggest A_S, with the blank being filled by a letter designating the ship's purpose-- "E" for exploration, "C" for combat, "T" for troop transport, etc.

However, of the choices Arnelos suggested, I like (1) or (4).

I suspose this is as good a place as any. As Knights are starting to be mentioned, I would like to humblelyrequest the name of our first knight goes to me. In the original SPDG, I was known as the First Knight of Apolyton and was called into battle on numerous occasions. I was still suiting up in my rusty old armor to fight Riflemen and Infantry. Please give me the honor of continueing to be "Donegeal The First Knight of Apolyton".

As for other names, I'll suggest the same two that I got to name as a minister in that game:

Arcadia
Solace

Arcadia has be benefit of even being Greek, which would be somewhat appropriate. Arcadia should, ideally, be located in a mountainous/hilly area. Solace can be located anywhere.
