Kenny was indeed a distant relative of the brave hero Kenny murdered by the treacherous zulus. Your memory is not what it once was though (its probably stress over the volatile market ) This war was started by a Korean invasion of the Mongol nation and the destruction of 2 or 3 unimportant Mongol cities.

As for galciv, I dont plan to buy it. My gut feeling is that it is more of a micro-management game than I like. The two aspects that would draw me in are absent, good tactical combat and eye candy.

Get Smac/x, download the patches/expansions (unlike civ3, the smac patches fixed a few glitches but added features to the game) and enjoy. I'm probably gonna pick up RON but I need to build a new PC first but I havent decided just what I want to do yet.

SMAC=Sid Meier's (yeah right) Alpha Centauri for which there were 2 or 3 updates (which I can furnish if necessary). They were patches for small problems but mostly improvements/changes to the gameplay.

the /X refers to the expansion Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire which doubled the size/complexity of the game choices. Although not a separate game it was of a like size to the original. If you've played the warcraft series or age of empires and expansions it was similar in scope to them (compared to PtW which should have been an update).

The gameplay will be similar to civ so the learning curve is rapid.
