Yes, we should, as a sign of good faith. It seems as though CFC is 'OK' with helping us win. They surely can't think they have a chance without attacking us.

I am a bit leary about giving them techs for free, however, placating them until we get the Palace jump completed is our priority right now.

We should try to avoid getting sucked into a pattern of giving them our techs for free in the future - or at least them expecting us to.

Also, for the price of Invention I have been trying to convince Donovan Zoi to increase the per-turn payments CFC has been making to us from 35 to 40. From the last chat, he said that this was quite likely.

(This is a big bump for such a thread)

Summary of the chat I had with Donovan Zoi this evening:

DZ has been promoted to President of CFC, in addition to being our ambassador.

We discussed peace with GCA briefly, I informed him that we will be getting peace from them next turn, and that CFC could do so as well (based upon the 5-turn rule). I also requested that CFC get a Galley together to take down the GCA Galley still in the lake, so that we can avoid the WW from having to attack it ourselves (since they are suffering less WW than us, it seems).

He asked about us sending them Invention, and I told him that we should not do so yet (in order to keep the cost higher for GWT), but if they really wanted it, we would deliver it to them. DZ said that he could probably convince people to forgo it until GWT gets it.

I requested that CFC begin Libraries relatively soon, once they get some more cities and Markets up. This will allow them to do their own research later on when our economy gets stronger.

He asked about CGN and Gunpowder, I told him that CGN was going to finish it soon. I told him that CGN plans on stopping research to build up gold in order to stop the GWT hordes. They are in the process of starting an expeditionary force in case things go sour on the other continent (GWT overruns CGN or vice versa).

I'm glad you posted this summary, but in the future could you please let me or WB or ZargonX know that Don Zoi is chatting with us, wants to chat with us, and so forth? At least let us try to meet with him??

Seriously, I've been online all night since my return from San Francisco and I didn't hear a word about this chat going on until it was over

Apologies, it started off as simply him telling me about his promotion in PM and then about his problems connecting to our server, and it didn't develop until a real chat about things until later.

Additionally, there was something wrong with their embassy room, and as DZ said he can't connect to our server, so there were a lot of problems...

Chat with Donovan posted in correspondance thread.

Summary:

I forgot to send Invention to CFC this past turn, so we need to do that on our next one.

CFC probably is going to get peace with GCA now.

Some discussion on our tech deal. I told him about how we should keep Education until GWT gets it, and he is going to go back to his team to see if that's okay. He also wanted to reaffirm our current gold-for-tech deal, and they should be able to increase the amount they send us per turn up from 40 soon.

In chat, I asked OctavianX to invite his whole team to come chat with us on Sunday, March 28th at 3pm EST in the #isdgfamtalks room.

Everyone is welcome. Please drop in. He believes only 2 of his teammates will come as they team isn't very active anymore. However, we'll try to get as many to show as possible.

We need to promote our cooperation and continued alliance in this chat, share information, share PLANS, including figuring out how they intend to get their GA and how their tech research is going. We also need to make sure that we're keeping up on sending them tech as GWT gets it.

We should also fill them in on details we know about the CGN-GWT war.
