And I'll have a big vault of money like Uncle Scrooge has and I'll roll around in my money every day! I'll also totally have all sorts of cool staircases and sekrit doors and stuff that makes it look mysterious and stuff.

And I'll have spires and helicopter ramps and an airport next to my garage space shuttle launching pad next to my garage. And I'll have a zoo with lions and tigers and zebras and lions and giraffes and koalas and kangaroos and lions and panthers and ostriches and hippopopopopotamuses and unicorns. And I'll have monkey butlers and they'll serve my every whim and every night as I go to sleep they'll tell me jungle stories.

Sweet.

Touche. I like I.M. Pei's way of blending his structures with the environment (okay, most of the time anyway ) and his creative use of geometric shapes.

Zaha Hadid is the "really great architect who didn't get anything built for ages 'cause her designs were too good" woman isn't she? Possibly, I was thinking of a more classically simple geometric shape for the house but totally ****ed up works for me too.

You're right. Zaha is a complete nut.
but i liked your description of a way out geometry, so I thought of her.
otoh, Gae Aulenti did actually do the Musee d'Orsay.

Because his style doesn't apply to what they argued they wanted.

In reality, Montalban's house is actually a 'classic' nowadays.

When you long for old world style, you either have to buy something to renovate or fake it...what to do, what to do.

25 acre property in northern California. Very modern look with a taste of the redwood forest. The main room is covered by a geodesic dome that works like those eyglasses that turn into sunglasses when you are outside. at night you would be able to see the stars, yet it wont't get too bright during the day It would have a pool table, HDTV, broadband internet, my own personal supercomputer, soft leather furniture, the works..

To the south of the main room is a wide, long hallway with the ceiling a half-cylinder It is painted a sky-blue with clouds. On either side of the hallway are:

Gym with the stuff you find at the YMCA

Bedroom with king-sized bed and HDTV

My own personal Biology laboratory

Kitchen with high-tech apliances

BIG bathroom with high-tech shower

BIG dining room to entertain politicians and my felow scientists

Large aquarium room with dozens of species of salt-water fish, colorful snails, crustaceans and small squid. One wall would have fresh-water fish, including colorful African cichlid species.

Huge library with lots of books on biology and geology.

At the end of the hallway is a huge conservatory with lots of exotic plants and some of my pet parrots.

Outside there would be 5 acres of gardens, including a water garden, a bog garden with 2 big baldcypress, and beautiful Magnolias, Pecans, Maples, Walnuts, and Atlas Cedars, and Araucaria conifers like monkey-puzzle tree. The rest of the property would be a woodlot of virgin Coastal Redwood forest.

I would also have my own big teloscope and observatory.

Otherwise, I'd prefer the desert, with it's breathtaking views. a small shallow lagoon where my Yacht will be anchored. The house will be a 3-story building, with a large greenhouse near it. Half of the ground floor will be an entrance hall, with stairs and an elevator leading to the upper hall. Also, there will be a large guestroom. It would be neatly decorated. There will be a study and a 3 bedrooms on the second floor. The study would have an elevator of it's own to the basement, which we be the place of my Laboratory, and my various toys. In two separate rooms, of course. UNGRATEFUL

Only a quarter of the 3rd floor would be under a roof. That quarter will house the kitchen. The rest would be the place for a dinning table, and a pool. Also, there would be a garage, with two cars, one of them a sports car, and the other a 4x4. Both would be Fuel-Cell fueled. some 50 meters away, there would be a Helipad, and a hangar near it, with a VTOL aircraft parked in it. I could also say that all of this would be meaningless without the beautiful woman I'd love greatly, who'd be the mother of my 3-4 great kids. But there is no point in describing them.

That's it for me. A new-age green megalomaniac american dream hybrid.
