It "betrays" all I think about the Islamic religion: that it sucks. Just like every other religion. But somehow, it's wrong to diss religious Islamists, when it's fully ok to diss religious christians and jews. I think all people that are religious and socially conservative to the point of being anally retentive deserve my ridicule. I am not planning to give Islam any breaks on this.

True, but in the case of Islam, there seem to be large portions of the faithful being held hostage by fundamentalism outside of the West.

There was a UN study recently which measured the impact this was having. Education and access to technology were especially compromised.

True, but this isn't a purely Islamic thing. Go back to the Middle Ages, when the Catholic Church ruled supreme; same thing was happening there.

Both institutions were wrong to do what they did.
