The Collins dictionary defines "bastard" as:

n. 1. Obscene remark, often an insult
2. A person who was born without the marriage of their parents.

Thanks for the invitation! I'll play. But I noticed a post worrying about berXpert and me playing together... You should worry much more about Yoda and Dr. Doom playing together! Yoda is better than me, and Dr. Doom plays with Yoda regularly!

P.S. berXpert is away until 4-AUG-2003.

It is for these reasons I am so adamant against arranged teams.

Last year the teams were "even" due to weaker/stronger mixes. With arranged teams this year, any balance from last year will be gone.

I think I would like to post a poll with the following options

Super League Teams

1) Leave the teams as they are and add Berx/Quinns as the ninth team.

2) Re-spin all new totally random teams when Berx/Quinns are added.

3) Create a 1st and 2nd tier of players (somehow)
and then pair members of 1st teir with members
of 2nd tier a) Randomly b) by choosing.

4) Close sign-ups now and
a) Use the teams we got
b) re-spin em and
in either case get started.

What other options should be included. Are we pretty sure Berx will want to get in on this?

One of the integral parts of SuperLeague last year was the team-spinning.

I suspect berX won't play.

I reckon an option would be to divide the League into 1st and second tiers based on ability, and arrange the teams into one member each from each tier, either randomly or by choice.

I think we should just spin them randomly and then vote. Whenever we get a super majority that likes the teams we stop. No sense in trying to guess who is 1st and 2nd tier so to speeak.

How are we ever going to start if we don't close sign ups? We were supposed to have started already. If we have to refigure teams every time someone signs up we will never get this going!

Well, within reason. When the games start, the sign-ups close, as I stated in my previous post. And the people signing has declined recently.

Actually we aren't quite behind schedule yet. I figured on starting Aug 5 after the close of all thes polls that are out ther for the settings.

I have added some options for the team polling
per gumpold's suggestions. We have six options.

Scroll up a few to that post to see where I have

1)
2)
3a) 3b)
4a) 4b)

now....

Tired of ads?

With respect to how to rank players initially for setting up the 2 tiered system, I'd suggest that the PBEM Challenge Ladder would be a good place to start, with some tinkering by consensus.
