it's called "splitting the vote". Over 70,000 people in Florida voted for Nader. Had they voted Gore, do you think we'd be in this mess?

What get me about that report is that in the very report given to the Bushies, thing like Saddam using WMD's against the US via Terrorist are ruled a low probability, and yet the amdin. comes out and basically spins it o say it is near certainty., it is only a matter fo time! It may not be lying in the most narrow sense, but it is being disingeneous in thier arguements.

I love this. The Dems are blaming the Greens for their inability to field a winning candidate. Amuses me to no end.

I'm not a Green. I'm just explaining why Progressives don't vote for Democrats. In California many Progressives are actually supporting the recall of the Governor.

If they are whining about Gore loosing, they're whining about Nader. Hence the Green comment.

For the record, I actually agree with your view that you should vote for the candidate that best represents your views.

Right... that's Democracy... but America doesn't have a Democracy. It's a Republic... specifically, a two party system of plurality. Winner takes all. You have two choices. The Greens are whining about Bush. Well, they should direct their complaints to the mirror since they didn't vote for the guy most likely to beat Bush. Don't get me wrong, if America was a Democracy, then I would be all for voting for who best represents you. Especially if the executive branch was populated of representatives based upon the proportion of popular vote. But it doesn't work that way. There are two parties.

I don't like the two-party system, but I'm not going to live in a dillusional fantasy world where my blind idealism is going to dictate how I vote.

If you don't like the two party system then why do you vote at all. Doing so you support it.

So what? Do you think Bush wouldn't have signed it, had he been president in 1996? Do you think gays would be better off had Bush been president instead of Clinton?

And how does that apply to current candidates? You do know that Howard Dean was the Vermont governor who happily signed the bill there creating gay civil unions, don't you?

Over 2,000,000 people in Florida sat on their fat asses and picked their noses on Election Day.

All Gore had to do was light a fire under the ass of 0.01% of those people, and he'd be President.

The longer the Democrats blame Nader (or Katherine Harris or Jeb Bush or George Bush or the Supreme Court or the pink unicorn behind the moon), and refuse to acknowledge that their problems are their own fault, the longer the Republicans will dominate this country's politics.

Want some Al Gore facts, to accompany Bush facts?
I mean, for a change?

Bush
"...KRISTOF (pgh 1): After I wrote a month ago about the Niger uranium hoax in the State of the Union address, a senior White House official chided me gently and explained that there was more to the story that I didn’t know.
Apparently, there’s a great deal to this story that Kristof doesn’t know, like what the Bush Admin said all weekend. Did Bush’s statement constitute a “Niger uranium hoax?” All weekend long, major spokesmen explained that Bush’s statement concerned nations other than Niger. But legions of scribes don’t seem to have heard. Kristof is just one of many.

For the record, Kristof pushes this point very hard. He persistently implies that Bush’s statement was a reference to Niger only. “[T]he White House, eager to spice up the State of the Union address, recklessly resurrected the discredited Niger tidbit,” he says. And he never reports what the Admin has actually said—that the statement referred to other countries. Kristof complains about the Administration’s “dishonesty and delusion,” and he calls the Bush statement a “falsehood.” But given his column’s shaping of facts, he may have a slight problem himself. "

Gore
SIMON: Gore is, in fact, one of the great examples of political reconstructive surgery. He started out in 1987 being lampooned in Doonesbury as “Prince Albert,” someone who grew up in what is now Washington’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel but affected the folksy Southern mannerisms of Tennessee. An image mild compared to his next one: Mr. Mean. Gore was the meanest Democrat in the 1988 presidential primaries. It was Al Gore, not Lee Atwater, who first used Willie Horton against Michael Dukakis.

http://www.dailyhowler.com/dh071503.shtml

-----------------------------------------------------------

Once one gets over how cute the Gore's looked with the Clinton's as Don't Stop, Thinking About Tomorrow
played at the democratic convention, there's really not that much more good to say.
Wouldn't you say ?

I too want more attention there. All those warlord criminals should take a bullet in the head. They are criminals who are preventing Karzai's government from taking full control. Lets hope that Russian promise of equipment for the Afghan Army goes through. Heard there was something like 100 T-72s and 200 APCs?
