My first game froze repeatedly at 70 BC, just as the Mayas we're about to declare war on me (at least I think so, since they had moved five units into my territory.) I reloaded (several times) the saved game from two turns earlier and had the same result.

They do display properly if the game is saved and reloaded. | Built slave-workers also display properly after they've completed a task.
It's nice that they look different, but it would be nice if the right click unit list groups them into native and slaves by nationality.

I've created a world map and set all the starting locations. No matter what I do the Spanish starting location always switches out with another starting location. So far the Spanish have started in England, Japan and Saudi Arabia with the other Civ starting in Spain.

Now on my latest attempt the Spanish, Celts and Americans all switched starting locations.

Mesopotamia: Industrial workers appear in the 3rd age.
Napoleon: French can take half of Europe by offering MPP in exchange for cities, thus winning the scenario in turn 1.

Here's a stinker, and I'm gonna call it a real bug.
When you insert the C3C disk, the Autoplay startup does not give you the option to "Play C3C" - Only to Install. IIRC the C3 and the PTW disk pop-ups both offer "Reinstall" and "Play" choices after you have the game installed.
This is also not patchable (except on future CD print runs) as this code is run from the CD itself - Unless it is actually in the code and looking for a registry entry, and the entry is just messed up. - Note: This is on a fresh install of Civ3 and C3C - I fully uninstalled C3 and PTW before reinstalling everything. (and I also completed the registration)
just FYI - but this is annoying as I have to put the disk in anyway (but then again, I've been known to leave the disk in for weeks at a time also)
Thanks
Kevin P.

I seem to be noticing a bug in map generation. I thought it was hard coded to always have a start position within sight of a water source, yet I have had a handful of random maps where this is not the case.

Not a bug with the game but might be a concern that causes calls to tech support:
I bought conquests Friday. I think I had a bad burn / cd press. My drive couldn't read one file from the disc. The game would play but the load up menu would be slow and the game would crash on occasion. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, different IDE drivers, and reboots... nothing worked.
Today I exchanged it for a new copy. The new copy installed flawlessly on the first try, the menu works quickly, and I had no crashes while playing today.
So, there may be a bad batch of CDs out there.
