The Russians continue to offer the Aussies their world map but are reluctant to accept the deal from the Aussies of nothing in return. Perhaps if the Aussies would care to share their world map by placing it also on the bargaining table we might be able to conclude this deal.

Meanwhile...

In the North the lone Russian warrior still adamantly believes that he saw a Viking scout earlier and is scouring the numerous mountian tops hoping to catch another glimpse of the elusive Viking scout.

Infrastructure and settlers are continuing to expand the Russian empire.

Australians seem to have gone into party mode as no new settlers made and basic road works seem to have been halted.

In keeping wit hour agreement on border citys we announce all border citys are completing a temple for worship. this will expand their culture.

small island to east is definatly useless, so further exploration is planned.

The Russians accepted the Aussies exchange of maps.

The northern mountains give way to some plains that continue further north. Perhaps this is where the Vikings live.

Ahh. I see. The jealous type. Well we are sharing cartography data now so no reason to get too upset. Especially when we find that pesky elusive Viking unit or see some settlements soon.

I am going to sneak a few workers up there into the mountians and try to build a few border fortresses close but not too close for culutural conversion. Just close enough to block or give early warnings for Viking troop movements into the mountians on their way southward. Then add some ships off the northern coast from the Russian navy and some ships off the western coast from the Aussies and the southern continent can be 'secured'.

Unfortunately the Russians have nothing to barter with and until some settlers arrive at their destination city sites money is more than tight. Perhaps after recovering from the costs of settling this part of the southern half of the continent we will have something to offer. Remember that the offer for furs once connected still stands for future dealings.

New city west of Moscow releaves some of the maintenance costs that are slowly eating away at the Russian economy. Growth is the answer from towns supporting 2 units to cities that support 4 under Monarchy.

No problem.

I am attempting to decipher the DirectX9.0 SDK so I can stay busy for a while. The tutorials were coded in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and I only have Dev C++ 5.0 Beta. Makes something difficult to understand even harder to wrap your head around when you can't use the example code but rather have to attempt to convert it successfully. Big Pain.

Accepted map exchange and more infrastructure improvements are allowing the workers to take advantage of the lands in Russia much better than before. Especially true when the hills and mountains get mined and the river valley floodplains get roads. Slowly growing.

Propose we divide the Northern mountains and jungle similar to the East/West divisions done earlier.

the australain cartographers decipher the maps and advise the new Australain king, King Paul Keating, that things looked good.

The Russians would be given lordship over the river in the jungle and the australian would gain one more city west of current locations.

New maps agreed upon and signed the treaty of Philadelphia.
