First of all, sorry for not being along the last day or two!
Dratted university work, and long 3D renders taking up my time!
@our_man:
That’s just the kind of thing I had in mind, undeveloped areas that will take a long time to grow,
but a few hard units will swing the balance!
I want it to feel like an empire /buildgrab and a war rampage!
Getting units from one place to another will put you at the mercy of the enemy navies!
Especially the Unter-see boots!
But don't worry!
I have not ignored naval power in this scenario!
@Sarsstock:
That is the kind of thing I have in mind for the Tzarists! The bolshies will appear when you lose certain cities, and they won’t be giving up!
They’ll be hard to defeat, but it might be possible.
A fitting punishment for being crap!
@GePap:
That’s an darn fine idea!
@Boco:
I will consider all of this.
You are right, there is much potential to make the scenario mechanics work in the way our_man described - top class!
And I like the idea of capable units being pricey!
@Kobra:
Yes, it is the D3 file, you have to start somewhere!
And thanks for that priceless info!
And that’s a nice map! It will be a fine guide Cheers!
@rmsharpe:
Don’t you worry, squire!
I have taken your advice into account – I value your input a lot!
@Case:
This save was taken from the dictator scenario, so please excuse the inaccuracy of the Australian regions!
I knew about Canberra, and was set to remove it, but it was an oversight!
But cheers, big time for that map edit!

Time to get on with this!

I was thinking about your aircraft selection, Curt. I think Boco's right - you maybe have a few too many British types. At most I would have 3 upgrades of fighter; maybe an Avro 504 (1914), Nieuport (used by both the British and French - 1916) and Camel (1917). |
You have a point...
My plan for aircraft is thus:
(Entente)
Light generic monoplane - (all, except Germans) to represent the Morane-Saulnier N and similar.
Upgrades to:
Nieuport 17 (French only)
Fe2b (Brits only)
Generic Biplane (All civ except Entente and Centrals)
Nieuport 17 -
Upgrades to:
Spad 13 (French only)
Fe2b -
Upgrades to:
Camel (Brits only)
Avro 504 - (very light bomber)
Upgrades to:
DH4 (light bomber)
DH4 -
Upgrades to:
Handley Page (heavy bomber)
(Germans)
Eindecker -
Upgrades to:
Albatros (DII/III models)
Albatros -
Upgrades to:
Fokker DRI (triplane)
Fokker DRI
Upgrades to:
Fokker DVII (ultimate fighter inscenario)
Gotha C4 Bomber appears as a replacement for the Zepplins.
If you have the time, I would be so grateful if you could give the Fokker DVII a shot?
I know I am a fokker for asking (shoot me ) but your aircraft are so good that mine would not pass muster.
PS
I may have to drop some craft, and it makes me sad to not use such wonderful units.
I must do a ToT version of this scen too, so I can use everything!

Do you think there should be French cavalry and possibly French African troops? |
I do agree, fairline!
Hence I will sacrifice the Brequet and Brisfit...*weeps*

I'm not sure about the Lancia, either. They were unusable for the Italians in their main theatre of operations against the Austrians in the Alps and were mainly used against for policing Libya. Perhaps a British or Russian AC - the Brits were the first to field them and the Russians used them extensively. I may be able to come up with a Lanchester or Austin-Putilov if you decide on the British or Russians. |
Pehaps A generic Entente and Central powers AC to cover all bases?
Again, many thanks for those MGs, If you could do a DVII, I would be humbled!

I'm just glad to see the Canadian contribution reconized. Now as regards to including Japan in the game, I like this idea because it give the player the chance to be more aggressive and seize the opportunity to snatch european owned soil in the pacific.
Who knows, the Japanese could even make allies with the Central Powers and attack the Philipines or Singapore and Hong Kong..... Who knows. Oh and one more question, I'm sure I've missed it somewhere but could somebody tell me what the human civ's are? That way I could get to work on a little piece of fan art for this game.

Yes, that would explain their performance in 1921-2. Most of their Great War gains occurred in late 1918 against a mutinous Bulgarian army on a front many historians consider a waste of resources.
Regardless of their performance, the Greek role in WWI was small. On that alone, I'd recommend other minor units over Greek infantry. One of those would be a generic minor power infantry.

Well we did defeat the Bolsheviks in the Crimea in 1919....
As for the 1919-22 war the troop perfomance was good, it was the lack of ultra-offensive spirit that led to our demise. I do agree that Greek contributtion was small in the war, as we only entered it in 1917 and apart from defeating the Bulgaro-German army at Skra we didn't do anything else noteworthy.
But there was just this 7 years period that the Greek army brushed aside every opponent it met(Ottomans, Bulgars, Germans, French, Bolsheviks).
But seriously now i'd rather see a minor allies(Serbs or whoever) unit in place of the Japs.
