OTOH, I find it really outrageous that the poltiical elites only thought about raking the catastrophe for their profit. I don't know if politicians have a good reputation in Spain, but their behaviour with this massacre will definitely not help

simple. the attacks before were on government officials, not the general public. attacks agaisnt officials will not elicit the same response as one against the general public (one of extreme anger and backlash and one counterproductive to ETAs goal) . thats why its wrong to say it was ETA.

not if you read between the lines. it says that govt blamed the ETA, but it was never proven.

On Thursday morning everyone thought that it was ETA. Even the head of the autonomous government said that they would not achieve anything by that way.

Now they are pretending that they said a different thing from the begining. But the logical thing was to think it had been ETA. Of course manipulation and demagogy can go very very far. To the point of saying that nasty phrase "bombs are planted in Irak and detonate in Madrid".

I am not saying that it is a coincidence. I am saying that pretending that the people who Al-Qaeda kills are in fact killed by the government is perverted and manipulating...
