I don't know about that, at the end of the day no one won.

And most of the fighting of any conventional war would take PLace in Europe, which is thousands of miles from the biggest, strongest, member of NATO. The Russians might have been able to achieve superiority over Europe, if they could close (or at least harras) the Atlantic.

The Communist Party and USSR, nevertheless, is responsible for as heinous of crimes as anything committed by the Nazi Party and Third Reich. But for some reason, pictures of Stalin or the Hammer and Sickle do not cause an outrage like those which appear over a Waffen SS propaganda recruitment poster.

Yep. I still find the Communist hammer and sickle offensive, and think it's a damn shame more aren't dsicomforted by the symbology.

But there's an order of difference between a bunch of jackasses who wanted to create a "true egalitarian society" and a bunch of Jackasses who thought it was just Ducky killing everyone who didn't beling to a specific ethnic group.

...Nazism is an ideology of which a central part is the destruction of the Jewish race. Call me illiterate, but I can't remember Karl Marx arguing for that.

There are no non-Jew hating Nazis because there can't be any - it's written into the ideology.

I am not debating the arguments and beliefs of Karl Marx. I am saying that the actions committed by the Communisty Party were just as horrible, if not more so, than those committed by the Nazis. What Karl Marx preached is made irrelevant by what the Communist Party became under Stalin.

Buddy, I'm not saying I prefer the communist party of the USSR over National Scoialism. Both concepts can and should be swept into the dustbin of History ( ). But the ideology of commmunism, if not the practice, is a much less bitter pill for me to swallow than National Socialism. The dummies on this board who claim to be communists (You know...the ones with Apple computers ) might really and truly believe it's possible to wipe out human nature and having everyone be all egalitarian like.

Well, bully for them. Now I think they're being stupid, even if (maybe especially if) they're making the distinction between communism and the more famous Communist Parties of history. I don't like the idea of working my ass off, and getting paid the same (or rationed the same) as the guy who's doing nothing.
