Although i think i've got the full version(maybe not the professional edition though).

I've looked at a few things on the web about it and for a free(worth a few hundred pounds!) bit of software(cover disk of PC Format issue 160) it seems ok - the only problem i got is my current home pc is ......old.....but good

It would be great to have access to some of the CTPII specific graphics for those of us playing with logo designs. For the source code project design the background was grabbed from 'Art' section of Apolyton which is limited. I'd be especially interested in a clean version of the gear/compass rose/spikey/circle thing behind the Call To Power II type. But other images would also be nice to sketch with.

Is there an unofficial keeper of the graphics? If anyone has a collection please speak up.

Also before a logo design gets too far along an official name for the final release should be settled on. Locutus had tossed out 'Call to Power II: Apolyton Edition'. Maybe someone more involved than me in the project can get the ball rolling (thread rolling?) on this.

On ctp2 there’s a file type called .zfs located in the default/graphics/pictures these contain some in game art that might help you the readers should be in the download section. Failing that they may be some salvageable graphics from the old activision ctp sites.

however as far as graphics goes we got little of activision above the realise They even refused to release all the units for call to power one (see my avatar).

I guess that depends on your definition of image enhancement. I'm pretty good at photoshop, what do you have in mind?

A couple of things I can't do are, remove artifacts from jpeg images and enhance an image where no image exists.

Thanks for the kind words. This is just a sketch, and also in many layers in photoshop, so adjustments can be made, including making room for buttons.

I was thinking it would probably make more sense to merge the two startup screens (the one The Big Mc posted with the new background and the new game/load game/options screen on which the pic OnePresent made is based).

Otherwise the two screens would end up being really similar and having the current setup of two screens is a bit superfluous anyway.

Obviously this will require moving/resizing the buttons.

It's not that hard .

we just make the multiplayer button the same size as play by e-maill and have two rows of three buttons with the two at the bottom for credits and exit.

Actually that image would fit perfect, its just bottom brick wall part isnt included, im sure that would be easy for OnePresent to include.

Personally id rather not combine the 2 main screens, i think a new single player screen would be better and use the "Apolyton Edition" for the opening titles obviously.

Once you guys decide what you want on the screens, I can set them up so that they look great. So at this point let's not worry about if there's room for something, or even if it is hard to do (at this point, with these graphics it is not). If we need two screens, that's easy too. Of course I'll upload a sketch and we can make changes from that point.

Seems we might want to get a screen without buttons for the download link. I could add in the word alpha or beta.

What I'll eventually need is a listing of every button you want on a screen. If a button leads to another screen and another listing of buttons, that's ok too.

Big Mc had some small "legal" type on his screen. I'd love to go ahead and get that somewhat firm so I can get it in place.

I did a quick photoshop of what a single screen might look like, to facilitate discussion.

Basically this setup works, though I it might be useful to make slightly more room at the bottom for the buttons and legal text there.

BTW, is the legal text we currently have still fixed on the image like I originally made it or is it text from a text file, like the version number? For multi-language support it would be best to put the text in a text file...

Moving around and resizing buttons (their width anyway) is easier in CtP2 than it is in HTML, so that's not really a major issue.

Looks pretty fine - I understand that the areas around buttons wouldn't appear as that, it's just the Photoshop draft.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly here, but you don't acually have to add any buttons in the artwork. The game adds the buttons for you. You just have to reserve room for them. The first image you posted (when resized) already works perfectly, if it wasn't for the unaligned buttons (as The Big Mc showed).

I think this is pretty much fixed already. But since, as I pointed out, it's different for every language it would be best not to fix that on the image itself, but rather let the game place it for us and just reserve some empty space for it on the image.
