Tired of ads?

I got it changed (from skywalker) a while back, because in all of the threads about democratic presidential nominations my sole contribution was "KUCINICH!"

Wow, that's great. Must have been a big thing for you, having your name changed to the only word that you could type. Adds a lot to the discussion.

Well, you need to show the term being used in the way you say. I've done my bit. So far the only argument presented gives the context for saying that the state should not intervene in the bedroom applies to abortion.

quote:

Abortion is a medical/women's issue, not a sexual one. I promise you most Dems see it that way as well.

Not the point. The point is in what context does the statement that the state should not intervene in the bedroom applies. Abortion definitely falls into this category as well as a woman's issue. The two are not distinct sets.

quote:

False dichotomy. Just because the Dems do not address civil rights for men specifically as a major issue does not mean they don't believe in them. They're platforms on civil rights is geared towards minorities who have traditionally suffered oppression.

So they don't care enough about men to make it an issue. Nice to see their honesty.

quote:

How does this in any way support the so far unfounded assertion that abortion is considered by the Dems to be "bedroom"?

I gave evidence, you just laughed it off, so you need to show that the statement does not apply to abortion.

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%2...n=20&fl=0&x=wrt

Note there's no references to abortion in the sites pertaining to liberty. "Out of the bedroom" is used in reference to sexual behavior. Happy now?

The term is used in conjunction with sexual privacy issues, be it sodomy laws, prostitution, age of consent, etc. It is NOT used with abortion commonly.

quote:

You've only provided your assertion that falls into the category. Trudeau's statement is hardly the support you seem to think it is. Where is that proof again that he coined the phrase?

quote:

So they don't care enough about men to make it an issue. Nice to see their honesty.

Nice to see you're still into making disingenuous arguments. Jesus would be proud.

quote:

I laughed it off because it wasn't evidence of the kind. It wasn't even a Democrat. Wasn't even an American!

im saying bush lacks integrity and voting for some that lacks that much intergrity on the issues you really care about should not be voted for. You just can not believe in the lies that the other guy is worse.

How could spending be more out of control, than under bush? is there empirical evidence that spending increases under democrats compare to republicans? no, there isnt. The oppisite is true. Democrats raise taxes to at least cover some of their asses on spending.
Voting for a "republican" that has done more spending than any previous democrat president, and holding that value of "financial responsibility" dear are opposed to one another.

If youre on the religious right, bush would be great for you. hes turning back the clock to a more religious friendly time where it is central to life and dictates our daily lives(for better or worse[worse in my opinion]).

Sorry to be so crass, but it irks me when people start going on about how they and the rest of the party are disappointed at so and so. Glosses over the issue and makes the person who makes the statement seem like some speaker for Republicanism or whatever party comes into play.

If you take the label of republican off the President and he just runs on his record I don't see how anyone would vote for the man. Look at the facts. It says in the bible to judge a man by his deeds.

True, and the Dems are fiscally responsible? It's their programs that account for the bulk of the federal budget.

True again, but the Dems believe in free trade? And what is moderate about the Dems' foreign policy? They seem to vote for what the GOP wants quite a bit when they aren't starting their own wars.

I hope he isn't suggesting the Dems want limited government.

True again, but the Dems believe in free trade?

I don't think that the Democrats are less free trade than the Republicans anymore. The Gephart wing of the party is dying and there's a good number of anti-China republicans howling for tariffs on the PRC. And it was Bush that slapped the steel tariff on after all...

Since when was the guy who wrote the original thing a Democrat ? He's just a Republican who thinks that the party he's traditionally supported has taken a turn for the worse.

The fact is that there is no viable fiscally responsible party out there. It just doesn't exist. The Republicans have long claimed to be that way, but haven't, at least no in my lifetime. The Dems... I'm not sure they even bother to claim fiscal responsibility.
