at first, it doesn't appear to work, when you buy from shops it seems to buy in stacks of 20 as usual.

Items already in your inventory will have to be manually grouped together to make larger stacks. They don't automatically do it (although after that point, when you buy or pick up items they should stack automatically)

but they should stack when they are placed in your inventory.

When picking up items, sometimes you have to have 2 empty inventory spaces (not just 1) for arrows to stack properly.

I just realised that in my last game of BG, my party was carrying more than 6,000 arrows and 3,000 stones around with them. Fools. I mean, what exactly would a quiver containing 1,500 arrows look like strapped to your back? It would be a chuffing huge SACK of arrows. You wouldn't fit through doorways

I only played a bit on Friday night, and did the second area of Cloakwood Forest. I got heartily sick of the web traps, because it's impossible to detect them (it seems), and they hold you for ages. Even when I got the Spider Bane sword, it just meant that one character would have to stand there for ages until all the others caught up.

Well, go to the same screen where you set your sig and avatar etc, and if you've subscribed, then there is a new button to select if you want a badge or not.

As for the web traps. They're another reason to use arrows, yes?

Hell, you should be seeking out situations where you can use up some of those arrows.

p1: "Hey, look. A button. Shall I press it?"
p2: "No, lets press it by shooting an arrow into it!"

p1: "We need to mark which caves we have gone down."
p2: "Ok, lets shoot arrows into the ground!"
p1: "We could always use this chalk to dr..."
p2: "Arrows it is! Fire away!"

Actually I do that in IWD2, dropping arrows on the floor to mark which passages I took in the forest.

News From my Fighter (18/00-18-5-18-7-18 LBow ++++)

Ok, this TuTu BG1 is turning into a picnic party.

After Candlekeep, I took Imoen (Swashbuckler) with me, then Kivan (True class), Branwen and Minsc (True class).
I went almost strait to the NPCs, not avoiding the monsters, but not waisting any time on the maps (except to FriendlyArm, to get that hidden ring...).
We went (level 1-2) directly to the Gnoll fortress and delivered Dynaheir (Sorceress).
On the way back to Nashkell I cleared one of the southern maps (Drienne and her cat).

Did the Nashkell mines and cleared the east southern maps.
Then the Bandit Camp, then Cloakwood (Coran in, Imoen out) and the mines.

I am now Fighter 6 (LBow +++++, LSword +) and I have started clearing the coast.
This is too easy. I haven't really used Dynaheir yet (except for Identify's).

I think I will go on with this game, but only to get the Tomes and Manuals (My goal was/is to make a BG2 character with 19 in some 19 stats, esp. Ch)

I think someone looked though the files and found its location ingame.

Its a VERY overpowered ring, you don't want it. It doubles spells. NASTY evil spells.

Nice sig BTW. Its from me though, putting words in Alva's mouth.

The ring doubles number of 1st and 2nd level spells the wizard can memorise (If I recall correctly, Gatekeeper doesn't show the item descriptions)

In BGII I find stuff like that by hitting tab constantly to make them flash. That would certainly work in TuTu, but I presume BGI's normal interface doesn't have that feature?

I wish I had bought BGII at the same time, so that I could take advantage of all the upgraded features.
Never mind, we're doing this the hard (and really slow, admittedly) way or not at all! Then I can get stuck into BGII and NWN. Oh God, what have I done? Taking the advice of Jamski has murdered my free time.

Why don't you run BGconfig and turn the game speed up from 30 to 45 or even 60, if time is an issue? I always play BG1 on 60 (i.e. double speed) and the other IE games on 45. Otherwise you spend a lot of time watching your guys walking slowly
