I can't see playing through more than twice. But if you enjoy roleplaying, there are multiple ways to get through certain situations.

But I would like to replay it again as an evil character. Eventually I may get around to it.

I want to use that badass evil weapon.

I never finished playing my first time 'round, but I've recently loaded it onto my work laptop so I can play when things get slow (besides, it looks much better on my 15" laptop screen than my 21" monitor). I remember one of my favorite moments being when I invited a hungry NPC to gnaw on me and my alignment shifted incrementally to good. I remember thinking "Now that's something you don't experience every day." I really have to get back into it again.

f'rinstance, I never got the "fiend-in-the-box" quest, and so I never did the "alley of dangerous angles" quest, plus I never got Nordrom or Vhailor, nor did I go back for the bronze sphere after Pharod was killed by the shadows, etc.
), so the second time I found a good walkthrough so that I wouldn't miss anything. The second time was probably as good as the first, since there was so much gameplay that I'd missed out on the first time (
spoiler(highlight to read):
not to mention that I'd missed out on two possible endings the first time through, since I wasn't intelligent/wise enough to defeat the Transcendent One through dialogue options and wound up having to duke it out with him
). I'm finding that the third time through isn't as fun -- unlike in BG, there's not much difference between playing a lawful-good or a chaotic-evil character, except that chaotic-evil characters get a bit less XP and a bit more gold than lawful good characters, plus I seem to be attacked by thugs far more often as an evil character than as a good character.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

yeah, im playing through the first time without walkthroughs, occasionally asking for help here (and the help here isnt nearly as massive as for BG - PST is apparently not one of Jamskis main obsessions )

While i have managed some of things you missed, i would consider doing the game a second time with benefit of a walkthrough - and maybe try for a different character - but its hard to see doing it much beyond that.

You just need to find the vat that's empty and click on it. You'll need tongs, fire protection, a hammer, and ore.

And don't sell Annah -- the benefits you get from the Book of Pestilential Thought just aren't worth the evil alignment it gives you if you listen to it.

yeah, you spend less time going back and forth between areas. I guess you can say it's more linear . But not too much. You can do those mazes at any time iirc. I did all of them. But I think one isn't required.

Got spare money?

ive done, i think all of the lower ward except the siege towar, and, i think, all of the clerks ward.

Now Im stymied. How do I get to the upper ward? (that is the next step?) ive seen the weapon in the great foundary, head the lectures in the festhall, etc. Still a bunch of unresolved quests including some from the hive. Still only 3 party members (never got morte back).

I think i mislaid the skull i needed - the usual inventory management trouble, including lots of skulls down in the dungeons below the Hive, and i stowed some, or dropped some somewhere. Im not too keen on pixel hunting back through the entire Hive, for every skull i might have dropped anywhere - IF - as ive been told - I dont need Morte to finish the game.

I need some secret word to get Ignus - havent found it. Nordom - who he?

ok. so next thing i do is check all recent journal entries for anything on Ignus' work, then go back and talk to every single character in the clerks, ward, focusing just on that, till i find it.

I went down an entry to the "underworld of sigil" thinking it might lead somewhere interesting, like the sewers in BG. Had some really nasty monsters. Any reason to try again?

Although I wasn't real impressed by him as a "fighter" I tink he has a crossbow you can use. Like the only crossbow in the game . But losing Morte isn't the end of the world. His usefulness isn't that great near the end of the game. The fighter/mage can do more damage I believe. Morte is pretty useful in the early stages, because you don't have much offensive power then. Combat isn't a real big part of this game anyways.

Under-sigil is just a place to level up your characters. You can also get some good drops there much later in the game, when it's too late for them to do you any good.

spoiler(highlight to read):
Morte, Nordrom, and the githzerai become much more impressive after you explore all of their dialogue options. F'rinstance, Morte gets some nice stat boosts after you explore the "baatorian smell" dialogue options, and the githzerai becomes much more impressive after you've unlocked the 8th circle of zerthimon and talked to him about it. I added Fall-From-Grace to my party on the second run-through just to get the "baatorian smell" dialogue options, and dumped her shortly after. Who needs her healing spells when you've got blood bridge?

fall from grace and annah were pleasant to look at I had both in my party. Along with the gith and Morte. And near the end I got that one dude who's real hard to get. he's a lawful evil type.

I didn't bother with Ignus, as I was a mage myself, I didn't need the extra mage firepower.

I got Ignus to get some spells (since I had HP to spare), then dumped him. A lot of the tougher enemies are immune to fire anyway, which is also why I never bothered getting those expensive fire-teeth for Morte (the first time through I couldn't afford them, the second time through I could afford them but I knew I didn't want them, since Ingress' teeth are more consistent).

ok, ive gotten fall from grace, and the word to get Ignus(had to check a walkthrough to get that )

I want another mage sine im not a mage. Clearly going nameless one going mage and then learning blood bridge should be powerful, but i already had daakon learn that scroll, and i assume no other blood bridge scroll will show up, so im keeping nameless a fighter.

It seems from talking to Annah that i can get nameless journal back in Pharods hangout, and i need that to open up more of the game.

Blood bridge is a pretty common spell, I think it might even be a random drop, but at any rate I'm almost sure that somebody sells it. It's a lot more useful to have Nameless One cast it than Dakkon, seeing as how Nameless One regenerates like a madman if you're playing lawful-good. Ignus and Fall-From-Grace also regenerate (I assume that Ignus could cast blood bridge, though like I said I dumped him and never had him learn it), but not nearly as quickly as a beefed-up Nameless One -- it can be a problem with Fall-From-Grace, who's a real idiot in battle.

I don't think you need any of Nameless One's journals to finish the game, though they give good experience and some really help later on. At this point you can probably leave Sigil whenever you want (after completing the "getting the stuff to leave Sigil" quest, of course).

spoiler(highlight to read):
Pharod has the bronze sphere, which you should pick up -- it's a journal of sorts, I suppose. The other journals are the one in your crypt in the catacombs (the stuff written on the walls), and the dodecohedron in your old room in the hall of sensates.

ok ive picked up Ignus. I wonder if it will be annoying that he has all his own set of spells. I mean i can see why that could be seen as adding to the story, and adding strategy, but i have enough trouble remembering spell effects as it is.

now im gonna go look for mourning trees (or whatever) to finish that quest.
