Actually we already gave them a hint when discussing the deal with Flexibility and Eth Calculus. We sent an explanation for possible change of research switch to other tech than Flexibility. Finally that kinda was forgotten, but if they read carefully old posts they should know it by now. Also their response was positive as for the PEG, they cannot run FM, so they do not care that much about it.
I completely agree. As far as we are concerned that initiative may finally fail in Gaian High Council. I will prepare a note in response that we see that initiative in positive light and await the official proposal from them.

There is also another issue. As the last message from Illuminatis states, they appear not to be aware, or not conclude the hint, that Spartans do not wish to release Flexibility and Eth Calculus for Loyalty only.

Sadly I am not surprised that you haven't reached any agreement with them yet. However, remember that you are the only source of Doctrine: Loyalty now for them (unless they risk wrath of Yang - he does have a foothold in their teritory). Some recent communication we had seems to indicate our relations with Spartans improved a bit too, so there is a chance that Sparta will soon abandon their policies. We are grateful for Flexibility - it will enable us to launch more frequent probe attacks against Hive, getting us their technologies and also allow us to divert less resources to the war effort.
Thank you for the information. |
I think that would be good to communicate it to them, stating also that we will deliver Ethical Calculus to them as soon as we have it. I will prepare a note and post it here for aproval.

For the placement in Gaian diplomatic channel.
quote:
Explaining our technology trade with Spartan Federation we have to inform the Gaian Union that our negotiation did not went very well. Spartans agreed to trade both Doctrine Flexibility and Ethical Calculus without embargos for the price which is presently not acceptable. Also from another point of view, we knew that Doctrine Loyality is not that valuable for them that they might even refuse to release one of these technologies for it. Considering urgency of obtaining Doctrine Flexibility by both our factions we went ahead and traded this technology with Spartans. Presently we consider renegotiating Ethical Calculus with them until we reach mutual acceptable agreement, although we do not exclude other means of acquiring this technology.
According to our agreement we will transfer Ethical Calculus to the Gaian Union as soon as we have it. It is presently one of our top priorities to acquire this technology in the fastest possible way. We do realize that Gaian Union is in need of it. We also feel, that failure to acquire both Flexibility and Ethical Calculus from Spartans is for both our factions unfortunate, though present partial trade have its benefits. These benefits will be also shared by the Gaian Union.

That would be it. Gaians may feel very dissappointed, but I think this letter is giving them appropriate explanations and should make their "kinda" loss repayed. They counted for getting both Ethical Calculus and Flexibility from Spartans for only Loyality, and we just know Spartans would never do this. Anyway, I think still we have to share benefits we got by possibility to switch to Adaptive Economics with Gaians. Any thoughts, recommendations?

Posted. So now we can only wait if Gaians will be very much dissapointed or only little. I hope they will see benefits in it. After all we will deliver them Ethical Calculus, as agreed. We are in kinda trouble then, coz it may actually take some time to get it.
I would propose in this case the following steps:
- our next tech is social psych.
- we preferably trade social psych from Gaians for both Progenitor Psych and Adaptive Economics. This would be partially as a benefit for them for making (hopefully) PEG to happen here.
- we then switch to ethical calculus.
- we attempt to trade ethical calculus from Spartans and maybe get it also by other means, then switch to any other tech of our choice. This lets us finally fulfill the obbligation.

Spartans already had Progenitor Psych in 2149. The question is, did they researched it as they gave a hint about their tech maturing, or traded with Morganities? If Morganities want to build PEG, they might have not traded it.

This is to Spartans:
quote:
To Spartan Federation,
We would like to congratulate the Spartan Federation of succesfull completion of the Command Nexus.
There is an important issue pertaining to both our factions. It came to the Data Angels attention that Morgan Industries is building the Planetary Energy Grid secret project. If Morganities complete it, we feel that it will significantly increase the efficiency of the Morgan Industries faction and will be detrimental for both Spartan Federation and Data Angels. We would like to inquire if you have any important information pertaining to Morganic work on Planetary Energy Grid? Do they intend to complete it in 2152?
Thanking in advance,

And this os to Gaians. In short, I think of getting
- Social Psych
for
- Progenitor Psych and
- Adaptive Economics
We used already their generosity, so let's repay them in this 2:1 exchange (I hope they will see it beneficial for them). Then we might get Ethical Calculus.
Also some more information for them.
quote:
To Gaian Union,
We would like to inform you that Morgan Industries started to build the Planetary Energy Grid. We cannot be sure, but it is likely we lost the race for this secret project.
We would like to propose you also a technology exchange in which we will transfer to Gaian Union two advances:
- Progenitor Psych
- Adaptive Economics
for a single technology from your faction:
- Social Psych
We hope you will find this exchange beneficial to you. We very much appreciate our current relations and trust you have toward Data Angels.
We also hope, this exchange will bring us closer to acquiring Ethical Calculus, which is presently the most important our scientific goal since we wish to fulfil our obligation toward the Gaian Union as soon as it is possible.

Yes, but on the other hand we need a good "friend" I think and hope that if we treat Gaians well they will benefit us in the future for this. It is like somewhat risky strategy, but without risk there is little extra gain. This proposal is 2:1, but I think it is not that much overcredited. Not yet.

And maybe the Spartans would trade Eth CAlc for Ad Econ. |
I considered exchanging some time ago both Prog Psych and Adaptive Economics with Spartans for Ethical Calculus. Now they have Prog Psych. they may still value Ethical Calculus more than adaptive Economics, so we will have to maybe give them something more.
I am forwarding both messages. The second set of messages maybe in several hours later?

Back to Ethical Calculus. This will enhance our faction - pop boom, not to mention we would finally free ourselves from need to get it in other means.
quote:
To Spartan Federation,
We thank you very much for providing us with very valuable information on Planetary Energy Grid. We appreciate your help. This further shows that Morgan Industries become very dangerous menace on the Planet, and closer cooperation between the three factions: Spartan Federation, Gaian Union and Data Angels regarding this issue appears to be required, as previously considered by all three our factions.
In response to your offer of exchanging Ethical Calculus for energy credits, we would be interested in trading this technology on unrestricted basis. In more detail, we are interested in not having restriction regarding release of it to the Gaian Union, as the Ethical Calculus is needed for us within our mutual research treaty with Gaians. We would not be interested in releasing this technology to any other faction at this moment. The amount of energy credits the Spartan Federation requests, 500 EC, is though very high considering our present economy.
In this regard, we would like to ask the Spartan Federation if you would be willing to trade Ethical Calculus for Adaptive Economics, which we currently already posses. We are very interested in further discussion regarding trade of these technologies.
We would like to inquire also if the Spartan Federation would be interested in trading Intellectual Integrity?

So? Any thoughts on this proposal?
