Although... it *may* have been a Crusade indeed. |
The King of France lost over half of his yearly income than no King in Europe want that type of Crusade in they kingdom, plus the people of Southern France have along lasting hater of the people of Northern France which make the king job alot harder in the long run.

At one time New York City was than city that have than huge problem with crime not police fault, cheap aver christian polit from upstate NY. First the city police offical make 250,000 pelony arrest every year acutral alot hight as many where set free after being arrest no place to hold then. The State Court in the city was able to handle 3000 pelony case ayear than they can only be held for one year and after being held one year awaiting trail they must be set free.
The city have no power to use city court to try these pelony cases in city court even when the city have the same laws on the book or even arrest then under city law it have to be state law. Plus the City want the power to decriminal nonviliont pelony like posution and gambleing and spiting on the sidewalk.
The worst place was the South Bronze call by many people the war zone. They have 9 to 12 year old boys robbery and rapeing old woman even in nurseing home they where arrest hundred of time and let go with no trail or time in pirson. My grandmother live on the edge of the warzone was butral rob and rape by two nine year old. The Black Muslim landlord was piss and was going to get than muslim gang which protect all the people in they area from these little monster to track then down and kill then, I said killing then is too easy just take they penis out of the pants and hit afew time hard with a baseball bat let then feel the pain they cause other. The State court didnot have atrail on this as these came monsters not the same one but they 200 boy gang rape elder grandmother's of some DA's in the city and state judge( they hand where tie in what they can do) decide they will give me than unoffical warming not to do it again. I thought a lot of the Long Island police wouldnot like what I did. It didnot matter as these monster did the samething in Long Island and part of NY upstate near the city, NJ and con( the two state near NYC) and make it back to the city where the Long Island and the two other States police cannot arrest then legal or easies. Only the city police and NY State Police can legality arresst then, the state police only have 25 to 50 men busy handing out state court orders to arrest these monsters and the city police can only arrest then an turn then over to the other police it the city pol in charge approve of it which they did so rarely that the other law enforcement just gave up.

Well, that could very well be (that something like that was said during the 'liberation' of Jerusalem), I wouldn't know. But historically, the quote really is attributed to the whole Cathar incident in France.

Todays news:
several arson attempts at churches. None succesfull.
Guys arrested with molotov-cocktails near mosque.
So far, all attacks have been against buildings, so I have the feeling that it's a 'war' against institutions instead of people, which is a releif.
But there is also hilarious news:
The president of the LPF (the party of the late Pim Fortuyn) has been arrested for writing letters with threats (of indisclosed nature).
The rediculous part is the fact he wrote them to his own party, threatening himself and the MP's if they would not stop critisising islam.
I wonder how much more death-threats to anti-immigrant/anti-islam MP's/columnists have been written by nutcases like him.

Something that might interest Ned (and others)
One of the guys arrested yesterday in Den Haag is a Dutchman of American descent.
In total, in several raids throughout the country, seven people have been arrested, two of them with a 'western background'. (I don't know what that means exactly)

The crusade strengthened the French monarchy by giving it control of the South, and by reinforcing it's image as champion of Catholicism. While ruling recalcitrant southerners might have been trickier than not ruling them, I don't think the Capetians complained about that either.
And don't tell me the Habsburgs were unhappy about anything about the dozen-odd crusades they had launched against the Hussites except their failure. |
The main scource of income was land and product of the land. Unuse land generate little income. It the Crusade destory the rural area which they did the taxes generate
from the land would have went down. After this the Pope want to lauch than other Crusade in France control
land and the King of France thank but no crusade.
The King of England got 1 million Pound per year from a tax on wool from English Sheep and the export tax on wool out of the 1250000 pounds per year income. So most King show than interest in the sheep bussien and stealing sheep in England was than capital crime( meaning it can carry the death pentaly) while stealing pigs was than minor crime at most. The Flemist cloth maker where alway able to see the King of England when they want to on the wool bussien as 750,000 pounds per year came from then buying Englandish wool.

A perfect example of media manipulation.
Mini clash of civilizations
Arnaud de Borchgrave
"***-for-tat terrorism quickly followed Van Gogh's assassination in widely scattered parts of the otherwise peaceful Netherlands. An arson attack against a Muslim school was followed in the same village of Uden by a Muslim attack against a primary school that was set ablaze and completely gutted. Then a small bomb damaged a Muslim school in Eindhoven. A score of mosques and churches were targeted by arson attacks in one week. Two young men were also arrested for putting a video on the Internet that promised 72 virgins in paradise for the "beheading" of Geert Wilders, a popular right-wing politician who decries the dangers of radical Islam.
Two years ago, Pim Fortuyn, a populist politician who called for a halt to immigration, by simply saying the Netherlands was "full," was similarly gunned down."
http://www.washtimes.com/commentary...03944-4700r.htm
A person unfamiliar with the events surrounding the death of mr. Fortuyn would immediately conclude that he was gunned down by a Muslim. Of course he was gunned down by an animal rights activist, angered by Fortuyns comments on mink farms. There is no reason to believe that de Borchgrave is not aware of that.
The way the line of argument is set up strongly indicates that it was his exact intention. As such the article is inflammatory and de Borchgrave should resign from his post as editor.

AP: Netherlands Mulling Anti-Terror Laws
Mon Nov 15, 4:00 PM ET Europe - AP
By ANTHONY DEUTSCH, Associated Press Writer
THE HAGUE, Netherlands - Spurred by the first terrorist killing on its soil, the Dutch justice minister said Monday authorities need broader arrest powers to combat a growing threat from Islamic radicals in the Netherlands.
In an Associated Press interview, Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner also suggested the spread of Islamic radicalism is more widespread than the government previously acknowledged.
He said the new laws would empower anti-terrorism investigators to detain suspects without evidence that they may have committed a crime.
"In those cases where we can't even clearly prove the existence of recruitment or radicalization, but only have a suspicion, we will still use possible administrative powers and other powers to disrupt it as much as possible," said Donner, the country's leading terrorism official.
Not only will the laws "make it easier to arrest people," he said, they will "make it possible to keep people for longer terms without fully revealing information in their dossier."
In some cases, detentions could last "at least three to four months," he said.

Locking people up for extended periods without evidence is a giant stride in that direction.
Notice how this apparently does not include the extreme right.
But hey, what if they went to lock up all neo-nazis in Europe?
For instance in all European countries there have been assaults on immigrants, and burning down of mosques by extremists, and I did not once hear anyone suggest that the authorities should be able to lock them up without evidence. And this pror to 9/11.
And what of hooligans indeed. They are a constant source of disorder and mayhem. Yet seemingly the authorities take no action towards the fact that some football clubs support them financially.
I am more worried by being gutted by skinheads, neo-nazis and hooligans, than by crazy fundamentalists, because they will attack you if you just look at them in a funny way.
I have never been personally assaulted nor witnessed any assault made by a Muslim. I have been assaulted by skinheads, and have witnessed assaults.
But I guess the politicians are too scared to do anything about that. They recieve constant threats by these rightwing elements.

This is a posting from another board made by a Dutchman.
quote: Dead Dutch politician wun the title Greatest Dutchman in a television show, just ahead of William of Orange, the Father of the Fatherland, who led the liberation struggle in the 16th century and ensured the founding of a Republic where no state ideology was imposed on the citizens.
Fortuyn won first place with 114.000 votes, William of Orange was second with 111.000. Today it has become apparent that 45.000 votes (by SMS and email) for Orange were not counted due to technical difficulties.
The broadcasters refuse to reverse the decision (scared of the repercussions of Fortuyn voters). |
Can anyone confirm this?

And no Tripledoc, they are not afraid of the Fortuyn voters, actually they sort of try to discredit the vote after the results are presented. Pretty lame if you ask me. |
On one hand it's lame to discredit the result if you organised the election, on the other hand it's even lamer that Fortuyn was even allowed to participate, let alone win (name me one thing Fortuyn ever accomplished in his life, besides getting shot?) I mean, look at the names of those who won the 'greatest people' in history contests:
Mandela, Churchill, Adenauer... Fortuyn?
I looked at the voting process a few months ago, it was very much open to fraud. I can only wonder how many fanatic Fortuynists voted more often than they were allowed to...

Well, I knew our current cabinet is slavely following America *cough*PatriotAct*cough*, but this is a bit too much.
I don't think it'll pass though.
On the "Greatest Dutchman Election" I have one thing to say: if only Fortuyn hadn't been shot. Then he'd have made such a mess of things that nobody would even consider him for the top ten and then that other guy who went against the establishment and got shot would've won.
In more Dutch news today, prostitutes from Utrecht, as well as people from support organisations, went to Amsterdam today to complain about the fact that Amsterdam closed down its official "tippelzone" (basically, an area for street prostitution). Apparently, Amsterdam hookers are now going to Utrecht, where they are undercutting their Utrechtse competitors.
Yes, I live in a very weird country. And even though mosques and churches are currently burning daily, I just can't help but loving it.
