Just heard him talking on the news, I find it funny that the president of the USA cannot pronounce America (Merka) or American (Merkin - which could be an advertisement for a pubic wig company i guess...).

overall kind of sad, means I have to try for another 4 years to boycot American goods and not go there on holiday.

Hm. Actually I am impressed. Would´ve bet it was Kerry 70% to Bush 30%...

Oh, wait, that was the worldwide poll, not the American one!

I cannot believe how a country with so many brilliant people can still hang around in a stone cave playing with clubs, while the world is evolving outside... Oh well, another four years without holidays in the states...

As for the argument "at least Bush fights the countries spawning terrorists": Thanks, that gave me a good laugh! Iraq... Saddam... supporting terrorists... how cute...

My impression is that there are both high IQ people and low IQ people all sides of the political spectrum, for a wide variety of reasons, and this kind of charecterization is a pretty schoolyard kind of thing.

Well, anyone accusing me of being condescending might well be accusing the sun of rising in the east.

2 digit IQ is being a little harsh, but there is a huge fundamental cultural divide in this country, and I don't see it diminishing any time soon.

Schoolyard things seem to the basis of campaigning. Bush senior campaign hacks stating that the whole basis of opposing Bush was hate, etc. Campaign ads don't appeal to intellect, nor do slogans or events. The entire point from all sides seems to be targetting the voter's limbic systems.

How many social conservatives have been compelled to have abortions, or to perform abortions, under Roe v. Wade?

While an obstetrician may refuse to perform an abortion using the excuse that he is not trained, I as a primary practitioner do not have the luxury of refusing to arrange for a woman to have an abortion as to do so might not only get me sued and have my license revoked but might also put me in prison.

Put an end to popups!

I'm disappointed.

but it's not really that big a deal. I was going to vote for Bush up until about 6 months ago anyways.

The only reason I didn't was the prison abuse scandal. I can't explain why, but that has deeply disturbed me. I've never been so ashamed of being an american. Perhaps I was being naive, and didn't realize how evil the country I live in really is. I just couldn't believe ordinary people are that sadistic. What's even more ****ed up is a few months ago when discussing who we were vote for, some Bush backers were defending this behaviour saying it wasn't that bad.

I no longer like my country. But I'm too lazy to move

yes I'm curious as well. I made a post in the election thread about how presidential policies really don't affect me, or anyone that I know. As far as I can tell, they don't affect my whole city. How can conservative policies be that bad?

Like many other semi-intelligent non-Americans posting here, I simply shake my head in bewilderment at how more than half of America's voting population can fail to see what the rest of the world so clearly sees.

Oh wait, I forgot something.....90% of Americans don't give a rat's arse about the rest of the world, and most of those do'nt even recognise that there is a world outside of America (except Afghanistan and Iraq of course, and then only in the last 3 years).

So with that in mind......I guess I'm not so surprised after all.

not everyone is alike. Apparantly people think Bush is doing a good job.

And he is if you think about it. The economy is good. There are plenty of jobs. I would have voted for him if he hadn't messes up the Iraq war.
