Emperor Snoopy!
You have been given power over a vast Roman Empire, and, even with your magnificent skills, it is still possible that you miss a detail or two. This is nothing to hold against you, but you should not just tell us, the Senators, to shut up in front of you. As you know, most of us have very good knowledge of the Empire. And, we are eager to help it to even greater glory. Therefore we can, and we will, point to details we find interesting, and important to our Empire. And you, the Emperor, should be thankful for the insight the Senators have. We show you details that just might have slipped your eye (I'm not saying they have, but they might), and we show how important our duty to the Empire is to us. Please, consider the friendly advice we try to give you, and Rome will become even more prosperous!
One thing, you missed, Emperor, is, that Senators can reach a mutual understanding in some matters. Yes, we might start from different points of view, but we can often sort it out through discussion. Then, we stand united and make decisions as the Senate. Whatever small the decisions seem to you, you have been trusted by the power to execute those decisions. That's what the Emperor has to do, if the Senate reaches consensus. That's exactly what made the one Legion walk into Celtic lands. It was not the Emperor's choice to make, even though the matter seemed small.
And another matter, I just remembered. Some of the Senators have a deep understanding of our Empire and how to run it. I admit with envy, it's better than my own. So, if you see Senators speak, and nobody arguing, it's often not because their voice is solitary - it's because they speak wise words nobody needs to argue with. I felt very sad about the way you treated Senator Joncunns advice. Please, this is not a way to talk to a wise man. This is not a place to be ruled by personal pride either.

Snoopy, this one is different from other succession games. We roleplay the Rome that was ruled by the senate, not the Rome with the emperor as the one and only man of power.
Add to that, that everyone can download the save and have a really good look - and you'll know why the "advice" is so specific. Personally, I don't feel like playing dumb about Rome's situation, and I don't think others will either. So yes, we might make some low-level decisions for the emperor.
Get over it, and play the game.

Seems fair, but is there an easy way to turn off all automoves?

Ahem. Let me clarify, Modo. I do NOT claim to be a dictator, and I'm well capable of understanding the difference, and that this game is sort of combining two periods of Roman history and all that - it's a demo game. I'm aware of that, and as you can see by the polls, I am quite happy to play that way - it's why I signed up, after all.
BUT, that doesn't mean you, or anyone, should be micromanaging the emperor's moves. It's annoying, frustrating, and useless - because even if I WANTED to be micromanaged, there's way too many different opinions on the small details to follow all of them, and I'm not posting 60 or 80 threads on what to do with units and whatnot. Ming would probably ban me.
On the other hand, you and certain other senators could allow me the RESPECT that I think I and everyone else here deserves, and allow me to play the details how I see fit. Not doing so - telling me how to manage small game details - is disrespecting me, and any emperor you do it to. We - or at least I - trusted you to play your five turns to the best of your abilities, within the GENERAL guidance of the Senate, and we expect the same in return.
