I call the special meeting of the Council of Rulers.
Adrianople is building a Palace. Is this in order to replace the capitol or to switch to a Wonder of the World. We have some chance to complete Smith's Trading Company, as Spain, Inca and French are building it - we could get Economics in 6 turns, then switch to STC.

Probing cities is expensive, so any info from you when those three civs started would help to make the decision
---
1170 AD
Exchanged Banking and 4 gold for Metallurgy with Babylonians
Gave Currencu to Russians they are now polite, so we have future friend and possible counterbalance for others in that part of the world.
exchanged Incense and 20 gold for Banking with Summerians.
Exchanged 1gpt and 40 gold, Music theory for Banking with Americans
Sold Map Making to Russians

Any info on when the 3 civs started STC would be very helpful
Any thoughts on possible STC completion?

I can always probe those 3 cities. Estimated cost is though 400 gold - roughly

It is not that I would like someone else to make the decision instead of me. The point is that having more information my decision will be more precise and less risky.
I would gladly save 400 gold and spend it other tasks than investigating cities. Having info if those 3 civs started STC 1 or 2 turns ago or 10 turns ago will have a tremendous impact on ability to succeed.
I will make the decision myself, just I do not want to do it blindly. I will play further in a few hours.

We lost anyway, there are only 9 Great Wonders left. We may never get one.

Apparently, you never let the AI build wonders for you. We'll get some soon enough, trust me.
Sorry to see a rather short report.
Picked up the save, and checking around... Still a tech lag. We have a slow army. And a big guy right next door. Somehow, the Iroquis don't know Theory of Gravity yet. We could buy technology, but that's 200gpt just for the two we need to get out of Medieval Age. We could buy Horses, but that would be expensive too. We can still build Dromons, so we didn't have the Golden Age yet.
The plan: get into the Industrial age, while preparing an invasion. Research Theory of Gravity, buy/exchange for Magnetism. Then, poke the Inca in the eye, and get any technology available. Consolidate Byzantine lands in the process. Perhaps start the Golden Age at the same time. The danger: the Inca might attack before we're ready, and they have a very big army.
1285 Ad (turn 247)
- Change some builds from Granaries to Temples.
- Change useless builds in low-food cities to military units. We lack 10-20 Musketmen, even counting possible upgrades. Also, more Cannons are needed, since no fast movers avaiable.
- Change some border cities to Barracks for easier managing of unit upgrades.
- Sell Physics to the Hitties for Dyes.
- Lower lux slider to 10%. A few specialists used.
- Theory of Gravity in 5 turns.
- Move units out of our core cities, toward the borders. There's no MP in Republic.
1300 AD
- Upgrades, and more upgrades. Mostly Archers, and Trebuchets.
- 2 turns to Theory of Gravity.
- Starting some Dromons. Perhaps the Inca will send ships our way...
- The Iroquis destroy the Russians.
- The Inca want a map, and 2 gold. They get it (we're not ready yet).
1310 AD
- The Iroquis just discovered Theory of Gravity. So did we - a turn too late.

- Sell Theory of Gravity to the Babylonians for Incense (renewing trade deal).
- More upgrades. This time mostly Swordsmen.
1325 AD
- Many upgrades done. Still defenders left - not enough cash.
- Magnetism in a turn. After researching it, we'll see if self-research is an option. I don't have a clue how big our tech lag is at the moment.
- About 20 units for offensive purposes on the Incan border.
If nothing unexpected happens, war will break out in a turn or two.

Here, we got lucky. I thought we'd have to beat a very strong opponent (or die trying). Well, we don't
1330 AD
As we enter the Industiral Age, we get Medicine as the free tech. Guess what? NOBODY ELSE HAS IT.
- War called off, as the Inca have Nationalism. Our best unit has 4 attack, while they have 6 defense. We have only 11 Cannons. No go.
- Sell Medicine to France for Furs, Horses, 33gpt, Democracy. Democracy as a bonus - they wouldn't give anything else of value.
- Sell Medicine to Spain for 1650gp.
- Sell Medicine to the Inca for Spices, Free Artistry and World Map. We don't need that tech, but it was just a bonus to the Spices.
- Sell Democracy to America for World Map, 18gp, 6gpt.
- Lux slider down to 0%.
- Rush a couple buildings.
- Do many expensive upgrades.
- Sanitation in 7 turns. Not Steam Power, as some AIs could be researching it already. I know for sure nobody started Sanitation yet.
- Unit-producing cities switch jobs. No Cannons. low production is used for Musketmen, high production for Light Cavalry.
- Some cities switch away from units to Banks. This is because we're not going to war - we can skip reinforcements.
1345 AD
- The Iroquis, and Spain sign a Mutual Protection Pact.
- Sell Iron to Spain for 780gp (renewing a deal). They still have surpulus cash, which is not good. It means they can do fast research.
- I gamble on the Sumerians to get us to Steam Power. Selling them Magnetism for some gold. Well, they got Medicine, so no trade.
- Edessa designed as a Worker pump. Railroads soon.
- Sending Workers to Irrigate near the Mountains. Lot's of unused tiles there, and all the cities need is food.
1360 AD (turn 262 - last turn)
- Sanitation done. Starting research on Steam Power.
- Sell Medicine to Babylon for 44gp, 39gpt, World Map.
- Sell Medicine to the Iroquis for 25gp, 35gpt, World Map.
- Sell Democracy to Japan for 27gp, 14gpt, World Map.
- Sell Sanitation to Spain for 2185gp, 170gpt, World Map. They had cash to pay more gpt, but Sanitation didn't cost enough. So, they are still doing fast research. Hopefully, they will go for the techs with Nationalism as prequisite.
- Sell Sanitation to the Inca for 62gp, 44gpt, World Map.
- Establish Embassies everywhere.
- Switch the prebuild in Septum to Longevity. 18 turns left, and no AI is building any wonders, so we should get this one.

- Rush a couple structures with the available cash.
In the year 1360 AD, home looks like this:
