2750BC played and sent.

I forgot to check on the HBR trade, but I presume it went through.

I've moved another Warrior onto the hill next to the Iron along with the Settler we finished this turn, joining the other Warrior who was already there. Next turn I will settle the town. Meanwhile, I've asked Moonbars to contact the Euphoricans and ask them to remove their Archer from land that will soon be our territory.

What shall we name the next town?. Something to do with Iron perhaps? What about "The Irony of Desolation"?

I forced myself not to work the Fish tile in Aquarius, since the Granary will now be completed in 3 turns, and with 5 food to go in the box until another citizen is born, we don't really want to have 3 excess food. So next turn I shall move one of the GL labourers to the Forest, and we will grow the turn after the Granary is completed.

Meanwhile, in Sweet Desolation we have 2 more turns until our first Veteran Spearman is trained

Inner Sanctum (I still hate that name): We've dropped back to pop 2. I've rejigged the labourers so that we're getting 5 shields - enough to build a Worker in 2 turns. Or we can move straight on to a Settler and let Aquarius do the Workers. I prefer the latter - starting with the 3 Workers has allowed us to improve more tiles than we need for the time being, so I think we need to get more towns settled, and military unit builds commenced in preparation for our Immortal buildup.

The other Warriors continue to explore. I'm currently planning for the guys scoping out the Euphoricans and Lost Boys (errr...is it Dave and Colin?) to circle them completely, then head back towards home to perform MP duty. The other 2 Warriors can continue on their way to explore the rest of the Pangea.

Oh, I was tempted to move a Worker onto the Horse to get that roaded, but there was a Barb 2 tiles away so we'd just have to move him next turn if the Barb approaches.

Speaking of which....roading that Horse should be a relatively near-term priority. Horses are exceptionally good units this early in the game....right Trip?

I like "The Iron Hills". It's from Middle Earth.

I agree with roading the horses. Horsemen make good assault troops to soften up the enemy because they can run away when wounded. Unless, as Trip has said, they are obsolete by the time we get around to attacking anyone.

Our 4th city is founded - Antioch. Let's hope the Euphorican Archer now leaves.

I have started a Barracks in the new town.

I suspect that archer will be staying put unless we withdraw our warrior.

Save sent to Lost Boys

As I have said previously, there is nowhere to withdraw our Warrior from. He remains in neutral territory, and we have the right to explore neutral territory so that we know where they settle their future cities.

I therefore concur with the Archer build

Played turn.

Granary finished in aquarius, switched to settler & changed tiles worked. Moved military police about to cope with pop growth. We need another couple of units for MP duty. Continued scouting

McMeadows was SERIUOSLY pissed off about my warrior move. He is under the impression we had agreed to "move the warrior back" what he meant was "move it back the way it had come" what I meant was "move it back home without entering ur territory"

So I think we can assume they'll be our first targets.. McMeadows was very upset, no idea what the big deal is. Perhaps our westwards bound warrior will find out.

I wonder how far they'll take it. I suggest preparing for war right away, to be safe. A risky move for them would be to re-occupy our iron. I suggest we move our spearman towards Iron City

Hmm, that's strange. We're not in his territory. Perhaps our earlier excursion across their borders made them nervous and paranoid. I agree with getting ready for war. Or at least improving our defences.

Moonbars - you neglected to defer the pop growth in Aquarius until after the Granary build. Now we have an empty food box instead of a half full one and it will take 7 more turns to grow instead of 4 (refer my earlier comments)

I'd say we'd want to connect that Iron as soon as possible - 60g for Warrior upgrades is rather expensive given our research pace, or do we want to drop research back in order to extend the life of our Immortals?

There can be no reason, so I am sure this is just a clumsy attempt at escalating tension in order to justify a war at some point. Note they have a Warrior just outside our borders near Sweet Desolation, so they have 2 units adjacent to our territory compared to our 1 unit adjacent to theirs!

Reading your log, he did specify moving back with no further exploration, but that's a bullshit stipulation, and as such, could and should be ignored. Either he's naive (which I ain't buying) or it was deliberately crafted to heighten tensions.

2590BC played and sent.

I've kept the Settler build in Aquarius, and 2 turns to go for the next Settler in IS.

I switched the Sweet Desolation build from an Archer (2 turns) to a Horse (3 turns). Given the double movement, they would both arrive in Aquarius at the same time, and a Horseman is about twice as desirable as an Archer IMHO

Colin, Kevin, et al, have continued exploring, completely oblivious to the pitious bleating of the Euphoricans

It is my recollection that I *did* infact do this. ah well, I suppose the upside is that we got a lot of trade out of that turn..

2510BC played and sent.

I switched from Polytheism to Currency, since Babylon has offered us Polytheism when they finish it in 3 turns.

The Warrior near Euphorica has moved north to scout the coastline. I'd then suggest sending him west.

New settler sent 666 of the capital. The Euphoricans have a pesky Warrior who will probably be next to our undefended Settler next turn, so I've moved a few units around as a precaution.

Our northern exploring Warrior was killed by Barbs. No big deal, since we had explored all the area north and west of Euphorica, and we have another Warrior heading in that direction anyway.

Do we have to wait long for some defensive units? I suggest we let them smash themselves against our city defences and then send a few horsemen to pillage their lands. Maybe we should wait for Immortals to attack their cities directly.

No, we have 3 Horsemen already in Antioch and another being completed next turn. I have moved a Spear onto the hill outside the city, preventing them from taking up a good defensive position inside our lands without actually attacking the Spear first. There is also another Warrior inside Anticoh, from memory.

If they step inside our lands we will attack.

My biggest concern is that we only have one Barracks town, so most units will be produced as Regulars. But with our Horsies' retreat ability, there is a good chance that many will survive enough battles to be promoted to Veteran.
