McMeadows and the Euphoricans have offered us Mysticism.. Do we have anything to trade back?

I have not received the last two saves from Beta, so I am somewhat handicapped.

Tired of ads?

I have emailed Kloreep, who seems to be Babylon's turn player now, and asked him to add all our email addresses to the list.

I'm with Sabrewolf and Masuro. There will be a time for the wanton murder of our opponents and the raping of their women, but I'd feel a lot better to a) know we have iron nearby first, and b) stand to gain something of it.

3100BC played.

We have IW, and an Iron source 3 tiles NW of Aquarius . In the absence of any direction to the contrary, I chose to research Mathematics next, hoping that we can trade for Mysticism and Writing. Unfortunately, Euphoricans already have IW as do BOH, but Lost Boys and Babylon do not.

Granary in 3 turns in Inner Sanctum
Granary in 15 turns in Aquarius
Barracks in 6 turns in Sweet Desolation

We're No. 1 in Manufactured Goods and Population, and second in GNP and Productivity. 6th in Land Area

Nothing much else to report.

Aqua, just got a chance to look at the save. Did you MM IS any, by chance? Moving off the forest onto the roaded BG gives us an extra food and gold, while keeping the granary at 3 turns.

Math sounds good.

Solomwi - yes I did You will notice the 3 food in the food box when you open the save this turn.

3050BC: We seem to have met the Porkeaters, and they have offered us Mysticism. Nice coincidence...I have offered them back Alphabet accepted. They also lack Iron Working. We've now met all civs

I would suggest after the Granary we go straight for a Settler, and found a town either 447 of the capital, or perhaps even 477 (which would allow a further town at 47 of Aquarius). Of these, I like the first placement better as it gives us instant access to the Iron. To this end, I have sent a Worker west to the Forest to do a Forest chop and then road.

Granary continues in Aquarius - any objections? After the Granary in IS, I suggest a Settler immediately. SD will continue on the Barracks then pump out military.

Note the culture graph - looks like the Porkeater Egyptians have been wasting their production building Temples. Give someone a cheap building, and they'll build it!

We also have a weak Army compared to BOH and Babylon. We must watch this carefully.

Excellent. I knew I had nothing to worry about.

If not a settler, WTF did we build a granary?

Completely off-topic, by the way, but my younger brother got engaged this week. [/shameless proud big brother spam]

Playing turn for Aqua.

Gran completed, switched to settler.
Moved scouting warriors.
Started mining the sugar. Went with mine first, in hopes of being able to get the granary in aquarius out before it grows. (will need to chop a forest as well if the current chop to the north goes to IS instead. ANybody know which city gets the chip if the forest is eqi-distant between two cities?)

That chop will go to SD, if it's the one I think (89 of SD and 33 of IS). The priority starts at 9 and goes clockwise for the first ring, then if it doesn't find a city, starts the second ring at 89 and repeats the process, going clockwise until it finds one.

Put an end to popups!

I've always wondered how that works. It's been written that priority goes to the city working the tile, and if neither is working it, to the city it is closest to, and if equidistant to the city founded first. But my experience has shown this not to be the case.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I forget who did the research. Seems like it was someone along the lines of alexman or our own teammate, Trip, though. And a slight correction... it may start at 8 for the first ring, but that's irrelevant to our situation. I think I'm about to test and make sure I have it right.

Okay, it does start at 9. The only thing I didn't cover, but everybody probably assumed, is that cities at 88, 66, 22 and 44, i.e. those corner tiles just outside the city radius, don't get considered.

The Lost Boys have offered us writing in game. Offered them mysticism back. Going to wait before playing the turn and try and finalise that deal with them. They might be expecting us to add something else on..

The Ankh-Morpoks offered us HBR - we can only offer ironworking in return. Again I am going to try and confirm those before I play the turn.

It's not a good idea to settle on resources with shield bonuses, since we will lose the bonus of the Iron. Much better to settle on the hill next to it, 447 of our capital....then road the Iron and mine it later for the extra shield

turn played and sent. The lost boy have agreeds to trade Mysticism for Writing. More like Stupid boys if u ask me, they knew we had three techs over them.. they could have gotten more out of us, but their loss is our gain..

Offered Iron Working in exchange for HBR with the AMs.

Aquarious moved from working sugar to fish, so that when Sweet Des grows this turn, the sugar will be the tile it works, and we'll get our barracks compelted a turn earlier.

Warriors moved.

that's about it.

2850BC played and sent.

Euphoricans offered us HBR, but we have nothing to offer for it. Moonbars, have you had discussions with them?

The IW-HBR trade with AM didn't go through, so I've offered them our newly acquired (stolen) Writing tech. More expensive than HBR, so let's see what they come back with - comments? I'd be inclined to grab it and run if we can regardless. There is plenty of tech-whoring going on and we don't want to be left behind.

Offered IW to both Babylon and Lost Boys, though I doubt either will have anything to offer.

Chop commenced in Aquarius, and labourer moved off the Fish to the Sugar being mined. With 35 shields to go on the Granary less 10 for the chop in 3 turns, we only have 5 turns until completion. The town will also grow in 5 turns, so we should delay the growth for a turn once we get closer to the Granary completion.

Kurt Cobain of the Euphoricans is loitering near our territory. I wouldn't expect a problem, but if he moves next to our Worker I would suggest moving 2 Warriors onto the tile.

Squeezed an extra Beaker out of IS, by moving the mined BG to the unmined BG (no effect on the Settler build, which will take 2 turns regardless). This made up for the loss of the Fish beaker.

Only 3 towns and already so much MM

Barracks completed in Sweet Desolation. Spearman in 4.

And for those of you who haven't noticed, our Foreign Minister the Lord Moonbars has bestowed the following names upon our Warriors:

Dave
Colin
Barry
Henry
Simon
Bab
Fred

The one as-yet unnamed Warrior near Euphorican lands, has developed a complex and may soon defect

2800 played.

AM has offered HBR + 20g in return for our Writing. I have accepted.

The Euphorican Archer remains fortified on our Iron. I have dispatched a Warrior to the site of the next city, and next turn will send a second Warrior there along with the Settler. They will then have no choice but to move their Archer.

Nothing else to report.
