We've already made that exception. Private business owner can choose to carry/dispense whatever products he wants. But he can't discriminate in his dispensation (i.e., only give it to married women).

I don't think so. Considering the amount of revenue a convenience store makes from cigs/booze, I would bet you a ton of money that refusal to sell those items wouldn't be tolerated.

Boris, you're asking a hypothetical that neither you nor I can answer. I was merely giving my experience in what I believed to be an analogous situation. They had me sell cigarettes instead of porn.

I don't think I'd sell cigs any more, though. My sense of morality has evolved.

It's a pharmacy. Most pharmacies sell these things. These drugs are exactly the sort of thing one would expect a pharmacy to sell. Ergo, it is a reasonable expectation.

no no no, it was totally random. i think though that the morality to smoke cigerettes is not placed in the provider of them, but in the consumer.

In my opinion, the provider is partly responsible. That's why my thinking evolved on the issue. I would neither sell cigarettes nor invest in a company that made it a large part of its business to do trade in cigarettes.

if this fits the definition of abortion then abortion could never be wrong. That what the point of these goddamn pills is.

Pills today work on three main aspects: they produce hormones that help prevent the production of a fertile egg, they prevent the survival of the egg in case it gets produced anyway, and they prevent sperm from reaching it in case it survives.

Please explain me what it has to do with the act of terminating an embryo, I'm interested

By definition the embryo is not an embryo before it implants.

Nope.

A zygote is comprised of a single cell. When cell division has commenced, the child is no longer termed a zygote, but an embryo.

Well, in any event, it is sometimes an abortifacient. We could sit here and argue it all night (not something I care to do, but if you want to know the normal arguments, then google is your friend), but the most important thing to note is that pharmacists may understand it to be an abortifacient and therefore would fall under such a conscience exception.

Nobody's taking up my invite to attack me on the weakness of the argument with regard to the pill.

Oh well.
