Which is complete and utter horseshit because illegal immigrants pump more money into the government through (illegally collected) taxes than they take out in government benefits...they can't claim taxes owed back to them since they don't have SSNs and even applying for federal benefits risks drawing attention to their illegal status. I don't have a link, but in my Anthro class we're studying the plight of illegal immigrants ("undocumented workers" pc bs) entering, then leaving, then entering, then leaving, then entering the US again seasonally. Give me a f*cking break. Mr. Gilchrist, I'd pay $1000 to see you breaking your back 7 days a week for an entire season picking strawberries for sh*t pay, no benefits, and constant criminal exposure to pesticides. Call me when you've decided you want the job for yourself instead of some Mexican having it and you can collect your reward from me...

Why is it that these rednecks feel the need to appropriate 18th century New England cultural ideals for their own twisted, xenophobic purposes?
I'm talking about the term "minuteman". Do they think it gives them legitimacy?

With the Mexican government publishing tips for illegals, it kind of lessens any problem I might have with people aiding the job of the Border Patrol. |
The Mexican Government is not encouraging anyone to cross any border illegaly. They are simply recognizing the fact that millions do cross the border every year and end up in very bad situations, if not dead. Telling them not to cross will not work, so you may as well help them to do it safely. Its a humanitarian issue.
And they're not "tips", its merely advice on how not to die in the Arizona desert and what they're legal rights are once they reach the US (yes, even illegals have rights).

You're probably right. As a New Englander that pisses me off. They're running our culture through the mud.

Bullshit. First off we suffer a 10 Billion dollar tax loss to these people. Then we lose out on Remittances, money they send home. We don't run a trade surplus with them so all of that money just leaves our economy. Then we lose out on the fact that Businesses have so much labor that they don't have to innovate and move up to requiring manufacturing and tech. Then our legal immigrants lose out because the people that compete for their jobs are: you guessed it, those illegals.
I find it troubling that you would think that we need a ghettoized slave labor class in this country for any reason.

You forget that patrolmen and women are nothing more than vile, inbred Eichmanns eager to wage a genocidal attack on noble, good hearted, and valiant oppressed people who are coming to our land with the purest of intentions.

Anti-immigration and anti-illegal immigration aren't mutually inclusive positions.

Being against illegal immigration doesn't mean you must be against all forms of immigration. It only means that you demand that all prospective immigrants follow the legal processes necessary to immigrate legally to the country. The border patrol isn't concerned with green card holding resident aliens, it's concerned with illegal intruders.
