TBS computer games are like training wheels. It's time to play real strategy games. |
If that's the case, why are you hanging around Poly? RTS has its charms, but not having time to think and plan carefully is a major drawback.
I didn't get an XBox, don't even have a PS2 or any other current-gen console. I'll wait for the new junk to come along and buy the "obsolete" PS2 when prices drop like rocks, if I buy anything at all. If they ape MS and stop making PS2s, oh well. I don't play that much anyway. Halo's the main thing the XBox has going for it, and I'm terrible at shooters.
I'll reiterate my accustomed point WRT console vs. PC: it's rather fun to be able to sit back in a cushy chair, as opposed to hunching up next to the monitor, to have the guy you're playing against talking trash right next to you instead of typing it with obnoxious 1337-gibberish, to have a nice big screen, to have minimal problems with slowdown, and to not be at the mercy of the frigging server. But I guess that last one's more a criticism of MMORPGs. Anyway, PC might have its charm but the free and easy nature of a console can hold its own too.
