Yup, Britain and Canada were the two other big surprises for me.

I'm fairly surprised at France's niceness toward the US (we aren't caricatural compared to the rest of Europe), and I'm completely baffled by Pakistan's very positive stance toward China.

DanS: I don't think it indicates any heavy trend. The surge of antiamericanism could have been only that: a surge. If the unpopularity had been only short term, the popularity levels would be much closer to the 2002 levels now. This poll seems to indicate that much of the antiamericanism your splendid little war created is not merely conjunctural, but that quite some of it is deeply rooted.

It'll take years of intelligent effort to restore your image to the former levels.
