We most probably gonna have the turn within 18 hours. Any plans for 2186?

If I find some time today, I will prepare this too.

Building proposals Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

  • Start a Rec Commons in SH (rushing would allow us to continue popbooming there I think)
  • Hurry drop AAA in GM
  • Start a crawler in GP
  • Start a Hab Complex in HS
  • Start a crawler or a Sioux in KC
  • If sufficient cash, crawler production in FH might be rushed cheap
  • Start an Energy Bank in EM
  • Another air unit in GL? Energy Bank?

Spartans mentioned a cruiser near Mart Pact, let's scout for it!
I think former movements were already discussed last turn (the Fungy MK1 and the former in the LIT near RPS). I suppose the rest will still be busy. O yes, the free former near EM aids in the mine construction near GP and the free former near Timberland plants a forest. Takes less time to return minerals to Timberland then working for 14 more turns on another borehole.

2186 Support Apolyton

  • No drone riots in RPS. We got 80 votes now, as predicted. GL gets BR-6.
  • Formers, pretty much done so far, as we discussed a lot earlier. Our sea former completed tidal harness. First one! we now have that tile 3-0-5. a good one.
  • Many crawler rearrangements for this turn. This is in order to get everything ready for HSA in 3 turns. Expected PSA in 2189.
    - New crawler in GP, I made some replacements on forests near KP and EM, so it can get 3 minerals now and be ready for HSA. Also GP may have a new one next turn.
    - Delirium camp no longer needs 2 nutrients, so maybe rehome it to SH. Another one rotate in its place.
    - GL can run on -1 nutrient and get forest instead of plain 2 nuts only. Then a crawler from FH may go closer to SH.
    - Crawler from RPS may make one more popboom there, if taken to the place near FH.
    - GM crawler move towards GL, replace with worker - no change in what we get there, just closer to SH and inland in general.
    - Near HS and HG, crawler move towards HG 2 tiles to let HS use forest
    - If GP and SH build 2 more crawlers within 3 turns, we may have enough of them.No more needed from near Delirium camp.
  • We have to decide, where the new colony pod from KC will go. We have some sensors for bases on southern shore. 23,75 for example. Or we go for north, or north western bases? like 15,53 or 19,47 ?
  • We have 3 F-6 that need decision where to go:
EM, DC, RPS. I would move the EM to MP maybe, the rest to HG. Still we need one more F-6 for EM defense, unles the new one stays there
    - Two B-6 return from patrol.
    - BR-6 from GL move to Delirium Camp
    - Rotate air cover above foil probe.
    - Snake, should it try to find some mindworms near fungal tower? And by the way, what are chances of finding one there with a copter?
  • Our new foil probe with radar ability is named DPS Roze (DataAngel Probe Ship)
  • Production items, like Geo proposed. Everything looks very reasonable. If we are going to get clean ability from Gaians soon, then we may wait a bit for clean formers, so let us make more crawlers now.
  • Hurry:
FH - 13 EC full crawler
GM - 4 EC full AAA
KP - 6 EC, then Energy Bank there
MP - 9 EC, just to finish sea former
    SH - 42 EC

Total: 74 EC. We need also hurry recreation commons in DC next turn, to avoid doctor

  • We are still economically weaker than some time ago.
    51 EC/turn
    136 labs/turn
Let us hope new bases/echelon/boreholes/solar/specialists will improve soon.
  • Growth:
    GM - natural
    KC - popboom
    RPS - popboom if confirmed
    SH - popboom
  • What do you think of a new base on 16,72, between MP and TL (Timberland)?
  • Spartans attack 2 hive bases by air units. Hive has 14 bombers, no fighters.
  • Hive Laborer's Throng or Fellowship City might be taken by Spartans, so our Foil Probe might get into that vicinity. A "probe window" might occur. Although I would not give that much chances. Knowing Spartans, they are too profesional for that. Although if they let Yang to kill their probe defenders. That happens on occasion.
  • That's it for now. Please rewiev the mid save.

switch DC to using that borehole. make the citizin in RPS to some specialst. it now has 2 psych and can build crawler in 2 turns. only need minerals in RPS to reduce the rushbuy cost.

what the heck does that LIT do? some bug with formers i assume?

not sure how the spartans plan to advance without droppods. i guess im just not creative enough to fight without pods.how do you get units in? cruisers?

LIT got the former to the tile, so the former could use the current turn for road making. The benefit is that LIT will be able to drive away on the road next turn, since the road thanks to it will be ready next turn. What to do next? It might help another former or possibly give a ride to a crawler in 2189 for HSA. Still 3 turns though.

Sea transports with marine units (they have Doc Initiative for so long), or land transports as our LIT, or elite rovers - 3 move points. When bombers clear the base, they just drive in

We did not ask Gaians for air cover. If you think of it, bombers are not that good for it, also aliens do moves after us and before Gaians, so we are not protected from native life by their cover. Only Hive cannot hit us, since it is after Gaians. Maybe they know of some Hive bombers scouting that area? Notice, most of Hive bombers are outside bases.

The DC has 2 psych only with borehole. Later I would switch back to borehole in RPS, coz RPS has better infrastructure. All those +50 % from network nodes and energy banks count more in RPS than DC. Then we need that recreation commons in DC.

Idea
If we could spare two F-6, we might forward them to Gaian Razorbeak's Wood Memory. We could then make our own air cover of that foil probe till it performs the action. Whether probing Yang or Spartans, this would deplete our air forces for some time though. Any comments? We of course would have to have Gaian permission to operate our units from their bases. We would NOT turn over the control of those fighters to them.

Idea 2
What do you think of an air base in the field? This would possibly make our air units invisible to those who infitrated us. I have though not much experience with them, must check scenario editor.

We need to quell a drone now in DC. Recreation commons cost, but a worker will just work on it, giving additional nutrients and minerals, e.g from a forest
quote:

That would be more for protection against native life and hive foils. And since it is Hive region still now, we can always claim, it was for probing Yang. Spartans would have to enter a vendetta with us, would they do it? After we refuse drop ability our chances for war with them grow again.

We may soon be quite militarily fit. Now we have 6 fighters, 3 bombers, 3 copters (one of them unity scout though). Soon more.

Got the turn open now. Checking...

Comment on your ideas Mart: I'm fine with asking the Gaians permission to operate from Razorbeak, but F6 fighters can't get there on their own radius (17 tiles from FH and RPS), they need to stop in another Gaian base first. So Gaians would need to agree we will scout part of their terrain first.
For the airbase, I wholeheartedly agree 36.60 or 37.61 sounds nice to me. One thing tho: if we do this I insist it on being constructed out of any base-radius, so if we want to establish a base in that area as well this should be taken into consideration.

Our Foil Probe can be in place good to probe 2 hive bases in 3 turns. F-6 would not reach that area this fast anyway. I wonder if there is any point to try to this, unless we will wait for probe actions that long as 6+ turns or so

Do you think Spartans probed Yang's Mine? Rendering the base as increased security? I have impression they did that. What gives us only Labor Network available for clean action.

If we get a base 32,62, then 35,59 would be outside the radius. But available from the sea. Does units defending airbase get colateral damage? in case of marine assault?

There might be an opportunity to let Googlieplex popboom.
If we put the newly created crawler on 23.71 (ridge tile) and harvest 2 nuts, while the worker there works 21.69 (1/3/1 income) then there's 2 nut/turn there. It then should still be possible to let the crawler hurry the HSA in 3 turns if the former on 19.71 constructs a road on 23.71 afterwards. Or else this could be a nice spot to use our LIT for. The timing is about right.

Think about it, we got an extra pop in Googlieplex, and a crawler to replace the nut crawling is already under construction to replace it afterwards.

I know that with 2/3 movement point for the crawler there is a risk, but if we use for instance a drop probe to 'ease' movement onto that tile it should work.

The problem with 35.59 is that it is in Hive territory at present, but I suppose that in a few turns that doesn't matter anymore. Frankly, I don't have experience with the defense of airbases, but will try to incorporate it in my current game. There's an added risk on such an exposed tile from the sea tho: naval bombardment.

If the Spartans committed a probe action, then Yang Mine was the only possible target. I don't know if probe actions from other faction increase the risk for our probe teams. Game mechanics could calculate it as different "probing protocols".

In my experience, AI factions don't hassle too much when units are in it's territorial waters, we could always try to move the probe foil-and air cover into the bay. Wait one, IIRC during the Borg war I managed to destroy a foil which was protected by a plane with a cruiser (artillery fire). So our presumption that the probe foils are safe there from Hive naval attacks might be false.

We could already "workshop" a drop scout and, for future defense, a plasma pulse garrison (perhaps linked with AAA as ability) for we still don't have ECM ability (I'm thinking of the Spartan marine rovers).
The drop scout is done in one turn, so GM could easily do that and drop it right into the Gaian base in 2 turns.
On the map you show the patrols returning in a straight line, but I hope you use their radar and range utmost and check more of the area then just the line between their position and the homebase?

As long as we don't need the free F6's for aircover or pre-invasion placement, I suggest spreading them out on our western and south-west bases to check for Spartan patrols. The plan to sent them to Razorbeak Wood is in the bin with that of course.

That would not work, LIT is too far for former, however it can reach 23,71 on time in order to help the crawler there to get to SH

Air bases are best defended by fighters. Land units get colateral damage unfortunatelly, but not fighters.

I tried to attack a fungus square containing probe cruiser and an air superiority fighter with unity gun foil. I get the message, that units without air superiority cannot attack units in air. So our probe foil should be protected, unles opponent has air superiority.

Wait a moment, long range fire indeed is capable of doing it.. damn...

a question though, could AI use long range fire? it's so stupid usually...

Well, I didn't meant the LIT transporting the former from 19.71 to 23.71, that former would have to made it on it's own. The LIT transporting the former was the second thing I meant. However, a road on 23.71 is a good precursion for (finally) making that tile productive... it is a ridge tile after all.
Guess I need to word my suggestions better in the future.
Does the general idea sounds ok and doable to you then? Crawler moving uphill with 2/3 movement isn't a problem in my tests.

And for the aircover thing, I guess it was a Hive bomber then that tried to protect that foil back in the 'Borg days. Thinking of it, it couldn't be anything else with the distance from it's homebase taken into account.

I covered probe cruiser with Tactical fighter!!! Geo. Still unity gunship using long range fire killed probe cruiser easily. You are right, in this case air cover is worth nothing.

So we have the agreement of sending drop scout to Gaians, or drop AAA scout? We can design it now and start in 2187. Drop in 2188. Long time to clean formers then.
