No, it's a bad move. People are largely blaming Brown for much of the mess. The fact that he has utterly no credentials for his job has compounded the calls to see him go. They could make many happy and can his ass. Not firing him just reinforces perception that there will be no accountability, just a whitewash. And that won't help the GOP in the long run.
