General slowdown experienced all over Italy, where things simply faster in the good old days?

Reports and complaints are comming from the entire country about the genera slowdown everyone has been experiencing. Nobody can really explain what happened but it is believed the last month has taken more time than most other months in our nations history combined. Scientists are doing all they can to explain it, the most viable theory currently being built upon something called "suspended animation". In addition the trains seems to be running a lot less speedily than they used to and comunications are generally a lot less efficient.
The government has assured everyone however that while it cannot explain this behaviour it is certain that the Italian quality of life and production efficiency won't be affected.
"Perhaps this is some higher power's way of telling us that we where going to fast with our ever increasing inventions to speed things up." A government official stated off the record.

Continued unrest has become problematic.... cities where food should be plentiful are starving and martial law has been declared in many major cities across the CEU! Ioannes I is doing his best to bring order to this chaos, but the solution seems to be years in the future. Meanwhile, the army is reorganizing.... but in the chaos, who is determining the loyalty of the generals?

Oh, also, the new Turkish administration would A) like to stay (I'd like to take over permanently) and B) would like to express a new welcome to all the nations of Europe to trade with Turkey, invest in Turkey, and increase the flow of merchant traffic from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea and vice versa.

Members of the Dove party in the CEU nations would like to extend the hand of friendship to the new Turkish administration. Delegations in many individual cities have decided to prepare trading goods with the Turkish people since the new administration sees it wise to lift the previous trading prerequisites. (that is what you are saying, right?)

However, members of the Wolf party are very weary in this change of foreign adminstration. Afterall, what could this mean but a foreign bid against the might and wealth of the CEU nations? Many local cities are producing greater numbers of soldiers and cannons.

In the midst of all this, moderates, including the once venerable Ioannes I wish to know what Italy's view on her allies new movements are?

I think it best if we in the end have one player per nation. I have no problem with choke playing turkey untill we can find another player though.

As for the freer trade policy Italy has no problems with it, sentiments in parlament have been going in that direction for quite a while and it's expected that many trading obstacles will be removed in the next mediterenean council meeting (where each country gets one vote).
Obviously any actual policy changes would have to take place at the same time in all med. countries or alternatively turkey will be given a special permission.

(but being as I am in favor and choke controlls the other two votes I doubt it'll be a problem )

yeah, it would be best if it were one player per civ. However, for now I have no problems with Choke being both civs. Afterall, I doubt Jugo will be a very interesting civ to play until a bit further in the future.

Britain is the Naval Leader of the World and would like to stay in that position, as the threat of France and Russia in the naval region has been neutralised it was decided to move much of the fleet to the Med. After all we are close allies with Germany and have enough of a fleet to keep them enclosed if needs be, the rest will be going to the Med because that is where the next conflict will break out. Also what right does Yugoslavia and Turkey have to question the rights of the Mighty British Empire??

The Turkish Empire and the Republic of Juogoslavija did not question the rights of the English. The question was about the NEED for England to send even MORE ships to an area already flooded with its ships.

If Spain were to realign itself with truly progressive nations by joining the ML it would have no want of modern technology.
